In panel two, Dick’s hand appears to be pantomiming a certain activity, if you know what I mean. Perhaps that’s his commentary on this whole, laborious ordeal.
OK, how powerful was that bomb anyway? It blew all the water out of the pool, and that’s quite a trick.
Today’s thought: How does the squad get in when it gets there? They’re still on embassy grounds, are they not? OK, DT got in with a gun and that should have been impossible too. Maybe I shouldn’t ask, because the answer would make no sense.
The posters were being a unruly bunch
He wanted to give them such a punch
They just had no respect for the rules
He thought they were being smart-alecky fools
He looked on their words with growing dread
“When will you kids grow up” he said
They sounded like Magpies with their chattering
And like negative nabobs they were nattering
But now let us turn to our dear Richard
Flopping on the ground like a pilchard
Tess knelt and screamed in his ear
“.…! Can you hear”
But his hearing was not a loss
His timing though was a beat off
Raising his “Genii” to his lips
He sought to come to grips
Gurgling he made the call
“Send a squad, send them all”
And as the crowd gathered round
Looking at the …. who almost drowned
They heard him say between coughing fits
These embassy galas are just the …..
I got it! When Dick-fist-pump-gurgle Tracy threw the violin in to the pool, the violin, sensing water, thought it was on the high seas and blew up….Get it? High seas/high C’s….heheheh…um….uh, oh heck, forget it….makes as much sense as anything else in this storyline….
Absolutely the worst art since the strip originated, and even Gould wasn’t that good. But Gould’s drawing had a distinctive style that set the strip apart from all the others. This is just krep.
rshive Tracy knows that the maestro’s son stole the Strad, so he will get at the culprit through the guitarist.
Or else maybe Virgil, in a fit of rage, will rush to the embassy and try to kill the ambassador with a French horn loaded with anthrax. Tracy will jump into the pool in terror, but the pig on wheels, now doing double duty as a bomb squad robot, will save the day.
One of those, I’m sure.

Ah I think I know what’s happening, Sam Catchem has been replaced by a new character named “Gurgle”.
My word Joe, you sure seem to lead a, er, er, “interesting” life.

What set off the bomb?
How did Tracy, facing the explosion, land on his face, not his back?
Oh, NOW Tracy uses his wrist gizmo. Sigh.

Nuts! Now that the evidence has been destroyed, how will they ever find the guy who armed it? Much less they guy who told him to?
The gurgle you hear is Macy realizing this.
