That is a pretty cool statue, actually. I kinda agree that the guy does have too much authority over the budget, however, I wouldn’t mind seeing something like that, maybe on a smaller scale!
Compared to some of the ridiculous wastes of public money on so-called art, a statue of a hot dog is decent representational art. And FRANKLY, I’d rather my tax dollars are spent on celebrating edibles than on a bridge to nowhere, or a bomber that the Air Force doesn’t want and that doesn’t work, anyway…

Yogi: Hey Boo Boo…..I just chipped a tooth on that big hot dog….. They sure don’t cook ‘em like they used to…let’s go find a pick-a-nick somewhere.

It’s the best giant concrete hot dog fountain I’ve ever seen.

I suppose we could check the budget a bit….Just out of curiosity, is the park director’s name Oscar?
bluskies about 10 years ago
Isn’t the fountain sopposed to spout from the end of the hotdog, not the middle of the bun?

Make mine a Nathan’s, with just a dash of brown mustard. Best hotdog, period!

At least you can make sense of this art. Has anyone seen the “Blue Demon” horse at the Denver airport?

The cherubs might make it a target for the anti-religion-in-public crowd……….

Park directors? Didn’t know such things existed.
jahoody about 10 years ago
@bluskies….if you look closely at the picture, the water is spouting from underneath the hot dog not from the bun at all
jmcenanly about 10 years ago
The parks director must be getting kickbacks from the hot dog vendor.

That’s how Rob Ford would redo a park.

At least the Director isn’t paranoid and has a thing for cameras.
