Even “Officer Tracy” has to admit, that something is “up” with that plane. In spite of gas rationing, he and Annie are going to take the patrol car. As I learned the other day, though, gas was never rationed for police. They were one of the groups in the “X” category who were allowed unlimited gas. I’m thinking that Tracy and Annie are maybe going to go rendezvous with the plane under the pretence of warning all the people about staying calm.
I wish that GoComics had an ignore feature for the message board. That way I wouldn’t have to waste electrons seeing the drivel posted by certain members!
I enjoy reading the comments. I also enjoy reading the critical ones, even when I disagree with them. In fact, the critics here in the Dick Tracy forum are kind of funny. Truth is, I can’t ethically criticize the critics, when I know that in the Alley Oop forum, I’m one of the more vocal ones.
Back in the 1940s, Harold Gray insisted he needed a higher gas-rationing status because doing “Little Orphan Annie” required him to travel a lot. After his claim was denied, he got very angry and did a number of strips attacking a number of Roosevelt’s policies. Even Tribune syndicate head Joseph Patterson, hardly pro-Roosevelt, had to crack down on Gray saying he was going too far. I wonder if this strip is a wink toward that bit of “Annie” history.
why didn’t you go to the Harvey Awards ceremony and let yourself be heard?.
I’d love to. Will you pay for my airfare? I’d tell Mike, Joe and the rest of the team that the award is well deserved and they should be proud of themselves and how grateful I am that they saved Dick Tracy. I’d also tell them that I.M.O. this crossover story is a miscalculation, has gone on way too long and is very boring. I’m sure they would respond with total class, grace and an appreciation that I’m passionate about their strip and read it on a daily basis. Some of the posters over here could try to do the same instead of denying me my right to express an opinion! LOL!!
So, Officer Tracy, in mufti, just happens to out at night with his rumored young squeeze, and Axel is not too suspicious? Axel is not the quickest villain in the plot. He’s just the front-man for whomever he addressed via computer the other day. And Tracy’s quick-witted response covers a chance for Annie and him to rendezvous with what/whom the B-17 dropped!
I wonder if Charlie is bringing it in for a landing.-Also, did we ever learn just what the accident was that prompted the evacuation?-Got to wonder if that accident is going to figure into the outcome of the story.
Yesterday I was pretty critical of the story, because I’ve really been enjoying it, and felt disappointed by something that made no sense to me.But that doesn’t mean I’m giving up on the story!--That said, congrats to Team Tracy for their second Harvey Award (it should have been their third; the Mr. Crime saga deserved one).
I won’t intervene in the comments battle. I cannot understand why the DT fans can’t simply enjoy the strip and make positive (or negative) comments about that and not fight amongst ourselves. I suppose there are some that need to vent their frustrations somewhere and this is where they chose to do it.
Clarification: This is a good Little Orphan Annie story, in which Dick Tracy is a guest. But I side with the dissenters that it’s not the greatest Dick Tracy story.
A familiar lament, maybe by your. How would you improve it?.Good question. (Bad answer).Hard to put my finger on it..For Annie fans, this was a “hit.” But even for non-Annie fans, it wasn’t a complete “miss,” either..Note that I have been careful not to say this is the worst Tracy story ever. It isn’t..And, as others have said, it is impossible to please absolutely everyone with absolutely every story that flows from your pen..Same for comments, too, I suppose..Presently, I am the one who has said this feels like an Annie story with Tracy as its guest. And with all the Annie characters floating around, not to mention Hotshot and other noted crossovers, to me, at least, there is a level of confusion here..Something I think I can safely say is this: Since the introduction of Mysta Chimera last year, and the time travel tease this year, Dick Tracy seems to be moving from action adventure to sci-fi and fantasy..On the other hand, as shown during the Locher years, perhaps the action adventure aspect of Dick Tracy had run its course..At any rate, I hope I’m being respectful in my posts, trying to express what I consider valid concerns, even if I lack the background to articulate them better.
Can I get a little help over here? Can someone kindly take the time to define these three words? I’m not sure what language they are, certainly not any English I’m familiar with! .comitee nmaes availabe.Kind thanks to all!!!!!-Correcting and calling attention to someone’s typos on the internet is a desperate act of a scoundrel. And to prove my point, I’ll admit that I’ve resorted to it myself. :D

Good move by Tracy. Act as surprised and concerned as Axel. Don’t let him suspect you!

It’s a week late, but on September 1, 1902, the George Melies film “A Trip To The Moon” (Voyage Dans La Lune) debuted in France.

Doesn’t anyone wonder why Tracy all of a sudden is back in detective garb and out of Policeman uniform starting on Sunday?
