Well, she tried soft selling the idea, now she’s going for the hard sell.

I know where she is coming from; it is hard to kick the habit of being a workaholic.

She needs to take a month off and just clear the head..Write these ideas down and then let them sit...Then get out of town for that month and go somewhere you’ve never been, but not to check out what other food establishments are doing..Go see the a national park.

I would love to read how Gene and ML rekindled their friendship (and more) when Gene was away at college. It was hinted at during ML’s re-introduction back in 2008 but never fully explored.

this me reminds me of the way my company works. they already have got the plan or the processes or the software and only after the deal is done do they want the workers the folks who will actually have to deal with things to sign on like they had a part in the decision and choices that were made. MaryLou has already made up her mind and just wants Gene to validate her plans. not exactly an equal partnership here. for the most part Gene has been a dupe in their “relationship”.

Hmmm. Mary Lou might listen to Gene if he had a plan … A plan that was more than not think about it for a while more and just relax. What is his counter idea for his own career? What research or idea has HE been throwing around?

She might consider going back to college for business, first, being as she didn’t do that while working for her dad and having a unplanned pregnancy. She’s way over her head on this one and will take the family down with her…
