I owned a TR-4 back then. Loved it, even if it precluded me from being a mellow fellow. Life is full of choices.

I should have expected “mellow fellow”, but it caught me by surprise and I LOLed.

Mellow fell by the wayside. It was blasted away by a whole different, more in-your-face, active kind of self-indulgence.

Thanks for the first video, Al. I was thinking, when I read the strip, of the Triumph I had after college, which actually was a TR4A. I loved that little rattletrap. I traded a ’64 Corvair for it (got $50 trade-in, even). I put my first radial tires on it, and it drove like a different car. I still miss it.Very basic: motor, transmission, seats. You couldn’t run the lights, heater and radio at the same time. Not that they worked all that well individually, but it was fun to drive, especially with the top down.

One of the Classics! I was in grad school when it first appeared. Split a gut laughing about it then and did the same today.
