Comes from the novel, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” I think it was Disney who made a great cartoon of it…you know, the Headless Horseman and Ichabod Crane (I think that was his last name)… ;)

A Moony U Drama student could have written an original play based on the Washington Irving story.

The Washington Irving short story has been dramatized over and over. We don’t know whether this production uses an existing script or whether this is Moony’s own adaptation of the story for the stage.

Why does TJ call Luann “College Girl”? So far we have seen her at Pitt CC exactly once, when she answered a role and sat on the wet lawn. She seems to have spent more time at Bernice’s college than at her own.

Since it’s Halloween, maybe the “Plus HHH” is meant to signify that there will be an appearance by the ghost of Hubert Horatio Humphrey.

“This is like the people who complain that they never see Luann or Bernice in class… doesn’t mean they’re not going to class.”-———————————————Except that this phase of the comic strip has to do with the characters being IN COLLEGE, so going to class is a very major part of that.If Fo-getty was their foil in H.S. classes, then it’s time we met at least one professor of education.

Surely, Halloween Haunted House? It seems to me, given the circumstances around it, that Sleepy Hollow is not what some would call a “major production” of the Moony Drama Department, but rather a freshman or “laboratory” production—hence, the off-campus venue and low-end flier. We’ll see….

With the HHH happening tommorrow (presuming so because it is Halloween), that means the play is happening tomorrow too, I presume…. which means quite limited advertising of both it seems. I am wondering if Greg is leaning toward having both items basically be a “flop” with few people other than the cast (which may be small too…. as it is an off-campus play, it may be one of those small classroom assignment sort of plays) and those of the “Luann” family that are not away in some distant land. Perhaps Bernice’s new “roomy friends” may attend…. but then again, if the “flop” aspect is what is being aimed for, maybe they won’t show either.

Lu, you’re supposed to be promoting the play— not tearing it down!*No doubt the flyer passed the review of Ms. M. before being mass printed.*Note that in the Spanish edition, the letters are “DDD”.

Here is a bit of a strange thought that I would like to see your opinions on:++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++To me, TJ looked odd at first… and I finally figured out it is the white specks in his hair…. giving him a salt-n-pepper sort of look more akin to if he were 48 or 49 years old. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++My question though, is how to fix this? I initially thought it would be best to have the white areas be colored by the colorist in the same color as the wall(s) behind TJ. Would that be the right approach? Or, would it be strange looking? If that is not the right approach, what would be the right approach? The only other idea I had was to only show TJ with white background walls, which seems silly.

“So is it semi-confirmed that Tiffany is not enrolled as a drama student? It’s kind of weird that she can concentrate on throwing a party without having any role in the play’s performance. Especially if they need outside help from people who don’t even go to Moony.”

At my alma mater, the undergrad theatre majors rotated which plays they worked on. But, they never used outside help because the theatre majors were paying to be part of the play, random community college students weren’t.

Maybe you’re right and Tiff switched to something more practical. I don’t think I’d pay for my future kids to go to college for fine arts, perhaps Tiff’s dad feels the same way.

“…is it semi-confirmed that Tiffany is not enrolled as a drama student?”-————————————————————She may very well be, but who knows when this COLLEGE ARC is bereft of details regarding classes.Bernice is taking a class that supposedly requires essays, that much we know.Luann showed up at an unidentified lecture hall, although there’s the possibility that she was in the wrong one given her other first-day confusion. She’s never returned as far as we’re aware. (Not to mention that she LIED to Bernice about her experiences to date.)Quill is some sort of stage manager (something for which he has had no training) who spends his time in the Prop Room smooching with a non-Moony student. If he has a role in the play (stage managers would not), we don’t know.Even Tiffany ‘s detractors can’t suppose that she is totally unaware of why she is at Moony U.Evans seems to think that placing his characters in a dorm room (or two), and having other students (we’re not even sure if the friends of _Dez_ are Uni attendees) “appear” in the background makes this a COLLEGE setting. The FOURTH STRIP in this comic showed Lu and Bern sitting at school desks; from thence, walking in hallways, standing in front of lockers, sitting in lunchrooms, hanging out in the restrooms, interacting with school authorities.Commenters who repeat the montra that showing the current bunch in actual COLLEGE settings is “boring” seem to have missed the majority of Luann strips in a school setting.Sure we never would have known that Tiffany ’s “suite” is stocked like a Costco , but geez! get ’em out of those dorms!(screed ends here)

Tiffany knows all about the “hardware” part of throwing a party – the plastic forks, paper plates, and cocktail wienies – but so little about the “software” – the guests, without whom there is no party. So far it’s not being executed real well, but… combining Tiffany’s planning skills with the people who will be showing up for the Drama Dept. production could end up being a good collaboration.

Everyone who goes to see the play has to pay to get in, probably $7-10 at least. The college students won’t pay to get into the party. I wonder what Tiffany has in mind.
