Comes from the novel, âThe Legend of Sleepy Hollow.â I think it was Disney who made a great cartoon of itâŠyou know, the Headless Horseman and Ichabod Crane (I think that was his last name)⊠;)

A Moony U Drama student could have written an original play based on the Washington Irving story.

The Washington Irving short story has been dramatized over and over. We donât know whether this production uses an existing script or whether this is Moonyâs own adaptation of the story for the stage.

Itâs a Show on Fox now. Pretty Good too.

Why does TJ call Luann âCollege Girlâ? So far we have seen her at Pitt CC exactly once, when she answered a role and sat on the wet lawn. She seems to have spent more time at Berniceâs college than at her own.

Since itâs Halloween, maybe the âPlus HHHâ is meant to signify that there will be an appearance by the ghost of Hubert Horatio Humphrey.

Kind of quiet here tonightâŠI am going to round up IS Katie and my current favorite book, and hop into a bed nicely warmed up from an electric blanket! âNite all! ;)-ââââââââââââââââââââSow an act, and you reap a habit. Sow a habit, and you reap a character. Sow a character, and you reap a destiny.â (Charles Reade, 1814-1884)

âThis is like the people who complain that they never see Luann or Bernice in class⊠doesnât mean theyâre not going to class.â-âââââââââââââââExcept that this phase of the comic strip has to do with the characters being IN COLLEGE, so going to class is a very major part of that.If Fo-getty was their foil in H.S. classes, then itâs time we met at least one professor of education.

Surely, Halloween Haunted House? It seems to me, given the circumstances around it, that Sleepy Hollow is not what some would call a âmajor productionâ of the Moony Drama Department, but rather a freshman or âlaboratoryâ productionâhence, the off-campus venue and low-end flier. Weâll seeâŠ.

Come on, people. Some over-the-hill wrestler is going to show up!

With the HHH happening tommorrow (presuming so because it is Halloween), that means the play is happening tomorrow too, I presumeâŠ. which means quite limited advertising of both it seems. I am wondering if Greg is leaning toward having both items basically be a âflopâ with few people other than the cast (which may be small tooâŠ. as it is an off-campus play, it may be one of those small classroom assignment sort of plays) and those of the âLuannâ family that are not away in some distant land. Perhaps Berniceâs new âroomy friendsâ may attendâŠ. but then again, if the âflopâ aspect is what is being aimed for, maybe they wonât show either.

Thatâs got to be the worst looking flyer Iâve seen in a long time!
Meh~tdology, fka Pepelaputr over 10 years ago
A rowdy, costumed (possibly drunk), crowd of college kids at an amateur theater production with wienies in BBQ sauce close at hand. What could possibly go wrong?
ACTIVIST1234 over 10 years ago
Lu, youâre supposed to be promoting the playâ not tearing it down!*No doubt the flyer passed the review of Ms. M. before being mass printed.*Note that in the Spanish edition, the letters are âDDDâ.
ACTIVIST1234 over 10 years ago
On the flyer, the name of the college is âMoonyâ rather than Muny. Hmmm.*adding âPlus HHHâ is brilliant. Who doesnât like a mystery?

Ooooo! If Iâm looking for a party to attend, nothing would inspire me to show up quite like the initials âHHHâ.It would probably win out over âFree Beerâ.

Here is a bit of a strange thought that I would like to see your opinions on:++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++To me, TJ looked odd at first⊠and I finally figured out it is the white specks in his hairâŠ. giving him a salt-n-pepper sort of look more akin to if he were 48 or 49 years old. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++My question though, is how to fix this? I initially thought it would be best to have the white areas be colored by the colorist in the same color as the wall(s) behind TJ. Would that be the right approach? Or, would it be strange looking? If that is not the right approach, what would be the right approach? The only other idea I had was to only show TJ with white background walls, which seems silly.

That is how Tiffanyâs brain works!
Pipe Tobacco Premium Member over 10 years ago
:) That was very funny, Leviticus! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I suppose Greg really should have written what Brad said as " âSup? " to more accurately reflect common spelling and inflection of the slang expression.
Pipe Tobacco Premium Member over 10 years ago
OopsâŠ. Greg DID write " âSup? ". Strange that I did not notice it before. Regardless, your comment is still funny and give me a good chuckle, Leviticus.

âSo is it semi-confirmed that Tiffany is not enrolled as a drama student? Itâs kind of weird that she can concentrate on throwing a party without having any role in the playâs performance. Especially if they need outside help from people who donât even go to Moony.â
At my alma mater, the undergrad theatre majors rotated which plays they worked on. But, they never used outside help because the theatre majors were paying to be part of the play, random community college students werenât.
Maybe youâre right and Tiff switched to something more practical. I donât think Iâd pay for my future kids to go to college for fine arts, perhaps Tiffâs dad feels the same way.
Meh~tdology, fka Pepelaputr over 10 years ago
ââŠis it semi-confirmed that Tiffany is not enrolled as a drama student?â-ââââââââââââââââââââShe may very well be, but who knows when this COLLEGE ARC is bereft of details regarding classes.Bernice is taking a class that supposedly requires essays, that much we know.Luann showed up at an unidentified lecture hall, although thereâs the possibility that she was in the wrong one given her other first-day confusion. Sheâs never returned as far as weâre aware. (Not to mention that she LIED to Bernice about her experiences to date.)Quill is some sort of stage manager (something for which he has had no training) who spends his time in the Prop Room smooching with a non-Moony student. If he has a role in the play (stage managers would not), we donât know.Even Tiffany âs detractors canât suppose that she is totally unaware of why she is at Moony U.Evans seems to think that placing his characters in a dorm room (or two), and having other students (weâre not even sure if the friends of _Dez_ are Uni attendees) âappearâ in the background makes this a COLLEGE setting. The FOURTH STRIP in this comic showed Lu and Bern sitting at school desks; from thence, walking in hallways, standing in front of lockers, sitting in lunchrooms, hanging out in the restrooms, interacting with school authorities.Commenters who repeat the montra that showing the current bunch in actual COLLEGE settings is âboringâ seem to have missed the majority of Luann strips in a school setting.Sure we never would have known that Tiffany âs âsuiteâ is stocked like a Costco , but geez! get âem out of those dorms!(screed ends here)

Tiffany knows all about the âhardwareâ part of throwing a party â the plastic forks, paper plates, and cocktail wienies â but so little about the âsoftwareâ â the guests, without whom there is no party. So far itâs not being executed real well, but⊠combining Tiffanyâs planning skills with the people who will be showing up for the Drama Dept. production could end up being a good collaboration.
locake over 10 years ago
Everyone who goes to see the play has to pay to get in, probably $7-10 at least. The college students wonât pay to get into the party. I wonder what Tiffany has in mind.
