Do they know about their older brother?

Holly seems particularly down on Mom. Wonder what her main complaint is.

Seems like a solid family to me.

I have no idea who Ward and June are, but the context is obvious.

Allow me to say (in disgusted tones): What a family.

I love the looks on the other kids’ faces, they’re not buying that for a second.

@Mellor: Ward & June Cleaver, the parents in the family sit-com “Leave it to Beaver”. Portrayed wholesome "typical"American family from 1957-1963. If I don’t understand a reference, I look it up. Easy to do when you’re already reading something on a computer or smart phone.

By the by…four lizard children, plus Chic, out of…how many eggs?

Helena may have been tired of waiting for a reptile egg, and resolved to let Chic’s egg survive no matter what it contained.

Having that many reptile kids and just one non-reptile. I think a few other meals may have passed between accepted birthdays.

I don’t get where you think Holly is being harder on the mom than the dad. Can you explain?

I read somewhere that “The best thing a father can do for his kids is love their mother.”

Just think…just before this, Chic got to hear his own parents discussing his death as a very real possibility, he got to hear his own parents discussing how big a problem he is, and he got to watch them fight. And this was just in one day. How many times has he seen this? It’s no wonder he’s so defensive.

Well, at least Mom got to give Dad a dose of his own medicine before the kids put a stop to it.…This reminds me of a commercial where the son is presenting an art show for his parents. He had drawn a picture he called “Mom and Dad Wrestling”.That was his first big sale.

Oh, great… He’s not an only child.Nothing hurts more than being compared to your siblings. Especially when they want you to be more like them.

I’m never good at commenting on these things, but I love this story! Poor Chic! <:( now I’ll let the regular commenters do their thing… I’ll sit back and watch :)

I love the faces of the fourth panel. Chick silently hurting because of his parents fighting and knowing that he really can’t belong in their family. Holly glowering in indignation, looking like she’s about to start chewing nails. I wouldn’t threaten her or Chic at the moment or she’ll teach you that size matters and that a tall person gives a quick small person many targets of opportunity.

Soooo, just HOW many eggs did they have to lay to have 3 of them be “acceptable”?
