Heavy is the head that wears the crown. So is the frying pan that the queen will use against the crown when he gets home.

Not one minute inside his house, and his son wants a present.

Trouble, lizard-style. But nobody can say they didn’t bring it all on themselves. And none of the lizards can truthfully say that they couldn’t have seen it coming.

Let the explaining begin. There’s definitely going to be a ‘coronation’ for this lizard leader. It’ll start with a rolling pin and be finished with a cast iron skillet.

I’m finding it interesting that his daughter is holding a bear doll. I realize that the community’s toy selection is limited to what they can steal from outsiders, but it still is curious.

This is something he must have surely dreaded. He knew it would come down to this.

Yes lots of kids, 3 here and chic would be 4.So we know that the “mutants” Can have children.

Maybe the group in end town are too depressed to bring any kids into this apocalyptic world. And Endtown seems far better a place than this one. Of course we don’t know how things have been since Jake Jackrabbit took over.

When Lizard King ordered the hallways to be gassed, he blamed himself for being to lenient on the non-lizards.The evidence in Panel Three clearly indicates that he had not made any effort to save his avian son Chic from the gas.Let’s see how much leniency HE gets…

“There was a monster in the walls…”

“That’s no way to talk about my son!”

And then it starts to get tense.

Ohhhhhh! Busted! something tells me there’s going to be a frying pan with an impression of his face. Whether it be for the murder of his son or for cussing in front of his kids does not matter. What matters is he got caught and now there is a price to pay.How about we get them all in a cage match?Four enter two leave.“Who runs Lizardtown?”“Who runs Lizardtown?”….“Masterblaster runs Lizardtown!”

Yeah, that’s basically the worst possible time to start reducing the size of your available gene pool. Inbreeding is going to be a long-term issue for the survivors in any case, but the lizards are actually working hard on making it a problem in the short term by first eliminating a significant chunk of their own population and then running an eugenics program to select for traits similar to the already dominant type.

What they’re doing is very unlikely to help them survive and quite likely to massively screw them over in the long run. And that’s just the population genetics side of their insanity. On the social and psychological side of things it gets even worse.

A couple of stray comments suggest that a small population might help them survive…I’m uncertain this is so, given known mortality rates among the survivors. A larger population, larger population production, might help.

The lizard’s behavior isn’t that crazy if one assumes that food producing mutants (like egg laying lizardesses) are able to break the laws of physics and produce both biomass and nutrients. The general reptilian belief seems to be that they can get by eating their own eggs. In our world that would be impossible because of the laws of physics. Food producing animals (like chickens and cows) eat a lot more than they produce. In this universe I’m not sure that rule applies.

They have 4 kids! apart from Chic. I would say that “daddy” was robbing the nursuries like was already mentioned. Probbly more common is 1 child, maybe 2, but often childless.

All little kids hope that daddy will bring them something, maybe a gumbail or a pencil, just so he has given them something.also I miscounted the kids, I think with Chic being kid 5.
