The church will do anything to get the child molesters out of town to a new parish.

The one thing they haven’t tried (and should) is turning them over to the police for prosecution.

Those who hide felons from prosecution should be themselves prosecuted. Even if they are the Pope!

Fact: Since October 1810, you can’t be a Mexican (or recognize Mexico’s independence) and be a Roman Catholic at the same time, by decree of the Inquisition.

Where does Joe get the authority to decide what’s a church and what isn’t?

canonization is the last step in becoming a saint, meaning the candidate has already been dead for many years….so that would be corpse being prepared for launch

the term ‘canonization’ is a catholic term, and the getup on these guys are catholic robes and hats…..so when ‘the church’ is referred to , in this context, it does mean ‘catholic church’ the catholics refer to their ‘organization’ as ‘holy mother, the church’ and the shiek might just be an ex catholic, using the that term ‘the church’ in any event, he posts a comment and is immediately attacked by a ‘cyber bully’ who uses that term himself to complain when he himself is attacked

you like bible quotes? ok, how about:

‘judge not , less ye be judged’

It’s easy to be without sin. Just twist the bible so that it suits you!

    Opposition to abortion is understandable.

nighthawks, if canonization can only occur after death, then cannonization may just be an attempt to speed things along…

First comes beatingfication, then the candidate is cannonized. At death he passes Go and collects $200, and God gives him his superpowers!

The “Pro-Life” movement should more accurately be called “Pro-Birth”, because they don’t give a danm what happens after that…

If my mother had chosen not to bear me to term, or if she had chosen not to conceive me in the first place, the result would have been the same: there would be no “me” to have an opinion on the matter.

To claim that a fertilized egg is a human being is ridiculous. Even at the point of development of the “tiny perfect fingers” that the Fetus People are so fond of stressing, the neural capabilities of the organism in question are roughly those of a lobotomized squid.

I think, as most doctors think, that if an abortion is performed it ought to be done at the earliest possible opportunity; not for the sake of the fetus, but for the sake of the pregnant woman. Surgical abortions, for practical reasons, need to take place after a certain point, but as newer and more effective “morning after”-type pills become available, unwanted pregnancies can be terminated almost immediately after conception.

As I understand it, “Roe vs Wade” established that distinctions are made between the trimesters: During the first and second trimesters, abortion must be available on demand, for any reason or no reason. In the third trimester, limitations can be put in place. That’s a bit arbitrary, but pretty much any line that can be drawn is going to be arbitrary, and my personal belief is that viability is as good a demarkation as any (and better than most). But I also recognize that late-term abortions can be called for in cases of profound (and previously undetected) fetal maldevelopment or when the physical risk to the woman is too great.

Every child should be a wanted child. Keep abortion safe, legal, and rare.

My goodness folks, all this from a cartoon? Aren’t there sites where you can all expouse your opinions about religion, church, abortion and what not? Why waste your time here?
