Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I donât understand subscribing on GoComics anyway. If Iâm following a strip, I simply take my browser to that stripâs page some time after 10:00PM each night when the new installments get uploaded. What is the usefulness of subscribing?
I think the subscribing stuff is just a way for GoComics to gauge popularity. But it doesnât seem fair, if you ask me. Some comics havenât been here long and havenât had time to build a following. Some comics may be very popular with a small group but not popular to a mainstream audience. Here are some subscriber examples:.Calvin & Hobbes 282,470Garfield 146,111Peanuts 131,634Nancy 22,689Dick Tracy 33,713Frog Applause 31,866New Adventures of Queen Victoria 12,645Perry Bible Fellowship 1,329Breaking Cat News 2,504Hipster Picnic 683.I personally donât care how many other people are reading a comic. If I like, thatâs all I care about. Teresa shouldnât care either, IMHO.
Iâm sure the GoComics Overlords have probably suggested that you add a cute recurring animal character which is standard. I always hear about this âsubscriberâ thing but I have no idea what itâs about, Iâve only been here about 7 or 8 years.
In the 22nd century, cooties became the world staple for protein. Bred to great size, usually three to four feet in length, they provided an endless supply of leg meat.Due to an impaired ability to function in reality, and an overdeveloped sense of squeamishness, humans became incapable of killing food to eat. The cooties were able to painlessly detach limbs, which were very much like crab legs and quite tasty.Cootie farms became common. Since they live on human detritus, they were also an ideal solution to other problems. They could even ingest and utilize plastics.Until the Great Cootie Blight of 2,237, they seemed an ideal solution to both world hunger and the rising tide of garbage. Their sudden demise is usually considered the reason for the Great Collapse of 2,240, which returned humanity to savagery until the Reclamation of 2,274, where the few survivors rediscovered the ability to gather and hunt. There are many questions remaining about whether the prayers to return humanity to savagery or the prayers to return savagery to humanity were the source of the Cootie Blight. To be safe, all prayer was outlawed in 2,249.
Longtime subscriber and unashamed. Here I get what I need to counter the true insanity that rages out there: bigotry, ignorance, hatred, exclusivity, conformism.
Studies have shown that Peer-Pressure marketing is the most effective form of marketing.* Telling people that their neighbors are doing something makes them much more likely to do that thing. For example, the IRS rolled out e-filing many years ago now. Their marketing initially focused on the growth of e-filing year to year until they reached 50%, then they focused on âmore than halfâ. -I donât know if the reverse is true, but personally, I wouldnât risk saying something like âsubscriber numbers are droppingâ again.-.*Iâm pretty sure I read that in the Freakenomics books.
I see where I can add it to my favorites or other such options but Iâve never seen where I can subscribe to this or any other comic. Does just viewing it make that happen?
GoComics doesnât use the word âsubscriptionâ or âsubscriberâ, but I think this is what is being referred to here.
How can I add or remove comics from My Comics Page?
To change the selection of comics for your page, first log into GoComics.com with your username and password. Once your home screen loads, look on the left side of the screen and click the comics page you wish to edit. Next, click Edit this Comics Page to be taken to an edit screen. Simply check the boxes next to the comic(s) you want to add. To remove comics, check the box again. Be sure to scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes when youâre done.
The âWandering Melonâ is a bit Frog Applause-esque today, in a B-side sort of way. Better sick the cooties on âem. Wher is Vlad when you need him?
HUH? First thing, I read FA. I need that âfixâ of insanity to start my day! It keeps me guessing all day! I think someone is just being factitious here!Get cut??? NEVER!!
Weâve simply lost the herd immunity that we once had. Now we have to get our cooties from the comic strips. I donât see any way around it. If I lost my cooties, I might be unhappy, so itâs important that I subscribe to Frog Applause and read it EVERY SINGLE DAY. THE WORLD NEEDS MORE ARROGANT DISREGARD! THE WORLD NEEDS MORE TERESA!
Hmmm. Maybe Teresa needs to wear a paper bag over her head; though in todayâs depicted appearance before the High Court of the Inquisition she goes boldly bagless! Bless her brave heart!
What I like about the frog applause page, is that itâs not a cliquey group of commenters with inside jokes and that makes others feel left out. Everybody is welcome on the Frog Applause page and they are treated like theyâve always been here. Iâve been on a couple of pages where the regulars talk only to each other and ignore new people, even when you try to be friendly or say something clever. When I started coming to Frog Applause a few years ago, I felt at home right away. Nobody is stuck-up here. Plus, the strip and blog had lots of material to talk about. Some of the people here I donât know, but it looks like a fun crowd. Any other old wrinkled men here, other than skylark with said he was 80 (a little older than me)..I wonder what Teresaâs demographic is. It appears to be older men, a few women. Maybe older people have more leisure time to spend here. I donât know. Since many of us have anonymous identities, would anyone care to share their age? At least their decade. Iâm in my mid-70s.
Who wants chuckelsomeness when we get greatness bestowed upon us by the All Powerful Teresa. And manual? Teresa needs no stinking manual. Sheâs not building a ferret table, sheâs offering little slices of sanity on pretty china plates here. Or insanity on decorated paper plates but either way, Iâm here for the cake..itchybacon They are a warm and zany bunch arenât they. Iâm in my mid 40âs. Busy wife and mom who comes to the funny pages to try and get back a bit of sanity from my day.

just the opposite, Dear Watson. This has become one of my fav strips due to its unpredictability and self-examination.

Dear Fellow Fans of Frog Applause:
With all due respect, I think everyone is missing the larger point.
Why wasnât I asked for permission to use an image of the back of my bun in todayâs strip? Arrogant disregard indeed.
Sincerely,
Rotiferâs Mother
P.S. to MargueriteM â Written anything poorly lately?

Chucklesomeness=puns=peopleâs favorites.Sounds more like Pearls Before Swine, that comic strip by Cartoon Boy, which I also like and (apparently) to which I also subscribe. The appeal of Frog Applause has never resided in humor [not all comic strips are or should be humorous!], however. Rather, the appeal of FA is to the intellect, to the sense of the off-beat, to the macabre, outrĂ©, mordant, and forbidden.
Hmmm. Maybe Teresa needs to wear a paper bag over her head; though in todayâs depicted appearance before the High Court of the Inquisition she goes boldly bagless! Bless her brave heart!
