Puck: We're 4 hours into "Elvis watch." Here's Lupin with the latest. Lupin: Puck, I've scaled the Vegas Fir for a better view. Lupin: Just gotta toss some junk out of the way -- Lupin: The Woman is leaving food out for Elvis. Puck: He always did like food. Tommy: Here we are! Elvis: You live in a shed? Tommy: For now. Until someone finds me, then it's onto the next place! Tommy: Anyway, it's a green-house! Roasty toasty! Elvis: Don't you have any people? Tommy: I did, once, but you've seen how that goes.... Tommy: I got outside, got spooked by a passing People mobile, started running... Before long, I was lost. Tommy: So, I stick to this block now. But I try to make it cozy. Elvis: Don't you miss your people? Tommy: Oh, sure! Tommy: I miss the little things the most. Sleeping at the end of a bed, having my ears scratched, hearing I'm a good boy.... Tommy: Would you like some leftover non-poisonous plants from breakfast? There's not much, but it always feels like more when you share! Elvis: Oh, no, I couldn't -- Tommy: Let's get some shut eye, then! You take the box. Elvis: But -- Tommy: Is the box not small enough? Elvis: Oh, no, it's impossibly tiny -- thank you -- I just don't want to take your bed. Tommy: No worries, brother! I sleep on this old overcoat! My Woman had one just like it! Elvis: Oh! Okay.... Tommy: Don't you worry. You're closer to home than you think. Tomorrow morning as soon as the snow lets up, we'll set out for your house! KNEAD KNEAD KNEAD Elvis: I wonder what Puck and Lupin are doing. Elvis: Probably all curled up, fast asleep by now. Man: Why are they so wired tonight?! Woman: They probably miss Elvis.

This is a SUPER story line! Can’t wait to see what happens next. There are too many “Tommy’s” out there. But what a great heart he has!

This so scary, I have to keep chanting to myself, “I know he gets home. I know he gets home.” But it is raising all sorts of questions about Tommie’s real situation. :(

I sense that they will be lost until they see a sleigh and a man in a red suit, who escorts both of them back to the house. They can’t see letting Tommy back into the cold and they adopt him. The rest of them go slightly insane for a while.

This comic is amazing.

Today’s comic made me cry. I have to say this story arc is making me really sad, though I know it will turn out fine. The fat kitty’s story is really depressing. If any of my babies ever got out I would be hysterical, let alone if I didn’t have them back within 5 minutes.

Tommy is quite the little domestic cat hanging up his mittens and making beds etc-how does he stay so plump on houseplants? Tommy is a keeper for sure.

“Why are they so wired?” The pot of coffee they are drinking might have something to do with it..

Very cute story line, even if a little sad. Elvis is taken care of, though and the others will stress for awhile. Just imagine the reunion.

Oh Georgia!! Can it possibly get any better than this??? This is just superb (su-purrrrb?) story telling.

Since the overcoat is “just like” the one Tommy’s Woman had, is it possible that the shed is in Tommy’s backyard and he’s just too ditzy to notice?

You’re breaking my heart, Georgia!

I have always recovered lost animals, but what the imagination does in the meantime is excruciating. Our little Border Collie Ty was an erratic fence-climber – she’d be fine for a long time, then off she’d go. The worst time was one morning she skedaddled and I found her a few blocks away on a street where there was huge street-renovation machinery, just standing right next to one of the monsters, unhappily wondering what to do next. They would never have seen her if they’d started to move, and she looked SO unhappy with her situation when I finally found her. Hurry home, Elvis and Tommy!

I love the way Tommy sets up a cozy abode with Christmas tree, little clothes line where he hangs his mittens and jacket, and makes up the “impossibly tiny” box for Elvis to sleep in. Cats do love their impossibly tiny boxes to rest in!

We have to get Elvis home. And poor sweet Tommy too. My heart is so heavy.

You all did notice in Monday’s I think, that there was a lost poster a pole for Tommy, didn’t you? Tommy’s going to get found as well as Elvis, but oh this is torture.

ooh the feels, such a sad tale but it’ll all come good in the end I’m sure.Had a chuckle at Tommy’s “is the box not small enough” comment. I know mine love to cram themselves into as small a box as they can

We just found a good home for a stray tomcat who was not neutered, but was so pet-able that I’m sure he once had a home. Now he does again. He’s in the getting-acquainted stage with the other cats who live there but doing fine. But a christian group seems to have swept up a bunch of the other strays we were feeding. I hope that was a real christian group, and not a bunch of righty-tighties who gave the captured strays to Animal Control, where they will be euthanized since everyone knows animals don’t have souls. Right??

Tommy doesn’t belong there.

There have been posters on electric poles they’ve passed showing Tommy and offering a reward for finding him.

From the way Tommy is cuddling that coat I’d say he’s not quite as brave about losing his people as he’s putting on. But courage consists not in being without fear but in carrying on in the face of fear. Brave boy, Tommy!
All of our Border Collies have been rescues for over thirty years. Right now we have two who are at the opposite ends of the bravery scale. NOTHING gets to the one, so his job is to alert us to what goes on around the house. The other is regularly frightened of his water bowl, so his job is to learn to calm down and trust. He was TERRIFIED of men when we got him. His male foster could never even pet him, and he evaporated every time a loud noise occurs. We’ve had him for two-and-a-half years now. He still shies and seeks comfort during thunder storms. But now my husband is his go-to guy for that. He’s come a LONG way, and we’re very proud of him.

If Tommy doesn’t find his people, I would love to be Tommy’s woman.

Suuuuper late to the party, just discovered this strip! My heart is so breaking right now. Tommy could be my Beauregard (that’s him in my pic). He looks like him, he acts like him, just everything is Beau! My Beau was found on Christmas Day, and ended up at the local Humane Society Shelter where i found him a few weeks later. He’s so loving, so people’d, just such an amazing cat… it makes me wonder what happened with his Other People. I wonder if he misses or missed them like Tommy misses his people. i know he’s happy now, but it breaks my heart that he had to go through whatever he ended up going through. And Tommy just breaks it all over again!
