You would think they were talking about âbringing back the Paradise Theater/reââŠ. â I guess the question will be posed- "Is this a âfast forwardingâ ", or a âsimulationâ of what it would look like, if all these plans came to fruiton, in the midst of the deal âgetting doneâ, in the last panel? â Could serve also as a potenial wedding placeâŠ
âLost And FoundationsââA Rough DraftââBessamer MuchoââWhy Donât We Steel Away?â (âȘ)
âWhatâs The Big Deal?ââThe Best Mislaid PlansââHandshake, Rattle And Rollâ (â«)âThe House That Jumpinâ Jack Flash Builtâ âTransform, And Roll It OutââA Prose About ConsâorâBungle In The Concrete Jungleâ
I hope Frank Dâs business partner doesnât lose interest in this project like the food truck fiasco. Didnât Brad have suspicions about the origin of the fire that destroyed the truck? This seems like a risky deal for Frank DeGroot, just hope he doesnât get âburntâ.
This is a good thing for rich people to do. I donât think anybody in Luann world is rich (not even TJ). These things never make money and always require a patron.
Not a snowballâs chance in Guam that $65,000 is enough to make the building in the first panel look like the one in the second panel. 50 years ago maybe, but not today.
TJâs 60 grand is about one-fifth of what youâd need to get started with THAT dream.Twice again that much and maybe you have the full purchase price.
for first panel and second one, usually while people talk, they talk the âbeforeâ as worse than actually it is, and they talk the âafterâ as better than what it will actually end up asâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ.. from what Frank said and by the skill sets of TJ âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ. I think Frank will put the warehouse as different sections, where they going to have 1. the theater section 2. the music section 3. the art section 4. the coffee bar section and the Deli section and TJ would run the coffee and deli sections âŠâŠâŠâŠ.. basically a âcultural centerâ that will have coffee and Deli, they could include a small cinema where they show classics
I can see this happening in a future arc. I know its a lot of work, but Iâm sure itâll be great in the end. Hopefully Greg Evans will let me build it since I love building stuff in The Sims 4.
Dreams can outshine reality easily. TJ will be giving Frank and Nancy a lesson in the Art of the Deal which they may end up not relishing.Shannon (panel 3) looks like her too-smug, foreboding versionâŠ.
Youâre Entering into an Unholy Pack with a KNOWN Criminal! The SAME Jack-Ball That Has Made Your ONLY Son Look like a Moron on NUMEROUS Occasions, BURNED Down Your âInvestmentâ Property (The Horner House) Without so Much as a Penny in Return, AND Has FAILED at EVERY Business Venture Heâd Ever Ventured into!!
And Does Old Smiley EVEN Still Have The 60K or Has He Blown it on Something Predictably STUPID, and Just wants to Get Into YOUR Retirement and Savings Accounts, DeGroot SUCKERS??
I Hope YOU ENJOY Being Homeless Franklin, and Spending Your Days Collecting Aluminum Cans off the Sidewalks to Help Make Ends Meet, DOLT!
Jeez, get pessimistic much Mordock999?Itâs just a comic strip, theyâll all be fine.(Unless youâre going for comedic overblown excessive drama,in which case,well-played):)
I still donât think TJ orchestrated the kablooie of his food truck. And despite the dire âbeforeâ picture, the building was fit for occupancy/use just a few months ago, so it may be structurally OK. Nonetheless, this project does seem like a real money pit. So far in this strip weâve seen only three potential cash cows â Eldon, Tiffanyâs father, and Rosaâs uncle (and we havenât actually seen the latter two) â and thereâs no reason to believe any of them would be interested in this project. So⊠danger, Frank de Groot, danger!
Cocoanut (with an a) Grove is still doing fine in Santa Cruz CA. Great old place on the boardwalk. http://www.santacruzca.org/things/family-fun.php?attid=149
So thatâs what the place where they had their new yearâs eve party looked like?!?! What a dump! So I guess they cleaned up all the broken window glass for their party, wow, how embarrassing. This place looks like itâs been abandoned for years and that itâs in a really bad part of town. Didnât they put on a play there too? I donât get it :/
Thanks for posting this photo Brdshtt! NG and Gweedo, Iâm looking forward to hearing the story that goes with it. So did you already know each other before this was taken . . . guys?
Check out the Torpedo Factory art Center in Alexandria, Virginia..http://torpedofactory.org/about-us/overview/
.The building really WAS a Torpedo Factory for many years. It became an Art Center after an earlier idea to tear the building down and replace it was scrapped after the Developer got the Cost Estimate for tearing down a building that was constructed with potential Explosions in mind..Really Thick Walls. .I visited in the late 1970s and some of the artists who were renting work space in the building were still marvelling at their luck in getting the building in spite of the potentially Lucrative location right on the bank of the Potomac River in the heart of Historic Alexandria. Also, the close access to the Airport and the Beltway would have made for Prime Condominium Development if the developer could have gotten permission to tear it down and put in a Condo & Docks..
What kind of warehouse is this. Fancy windows, at least 3 doors (although the 2 on the side may be emergency exits) and the envisioned plan has the sidewalk blocked by the ropes
canât wait to see how this one turns out and theytâll need more than 60k; they have to buy the building first. But a space for the arts ranks high on great investments for a community.
(âbeforeâ and after:) I had taken it for either one of those âmisteaksâ (sic) Greg referred to in last yearsâ Reubens Q&A seminar where he âgoofedâ on forgetting that depiction from last October, or âjust a dream (loose referral to the latest post on their FB page) running in Frankâs headââŠ..â Sort of like the âJoe Westphall/St. Elsewhere Theoryâ (A.K.A. âLife in a snowglobeâ)âŠ.
for me it depicts how Frank and TJ are talking about the place, hard for me to see the place as depicted in panel 2, it would be like 10-31-14 strip with better colors as they would repaint it. that is why it has an arrow going from panel 1 to 2, it is how the 3 are talking about the place âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ âthe place is in shambles, with missing parts and such, and lot of things to put on code, but at the end we will have it in SUPERB shapeâ

Nice, but the entrance ropes block the sidewalk. Probably a code violation that will require Brad or Toni to issue a citation.
