So, sinister Méliès actually knows what Mr Bigg is hiding? Wow! … and he has every room in the whole building bugged! I hope he’s not listening to the girls when they come to visit the museum!
It’s even more obvious that they are the so-called “old crew.” They’d better act fast to impress Mr. Bigg if that’s what they have in mind.
Gweedo asked,FIOS is a big money ticket. Can’t you just get high speed cable with out all that extra baggage ?-——————————————————————————
My dsl is a lifetime plan, $17.99 per month with no added fees or taxes and it can never be increased. The least expensive FiOS high speed internet was/is $23 per month plus taxes and fees for a two year deal. They almost convinced me since I thought I would have super fast internet only to discover that the connection speed for the $23/month was slower than my dsl. The only added cost for my dsl is that I must retain my landline dial tone ($5.82 per month) to enable access to dsl. I have cable tv via Comcast. Internet access is too much for my budget. My cable tv is included in my condo fee.
I suppose if Méliès has Mr. Bigg’s office bugged, I shouldn’t be surprised that he knows what Mr. Bigg is hiding. I’m sure Mr. Bigg has talked about it.
Bill – I was able to get an Arris/Motorola SB6141 at Costco for $40; TWC was charging me $8 a month for their modem. I’m getting much faster speed … Research if that is a way to save yourself time and money.
Gweedo remarked:…I didn’t like the FIOS as it hijacks your tv…-————————————————————————-
A friend mentioned that and told me that she switched to Comcast as a result. The last time I checked Comcast’s charge for internet, it was more than I am paying for my Verizon dsl + landline dial tone. My budget is very limited.
Great noir-ish artwork today. And Méliès is showing his craftiness and deviousness. But is he “good” enough to outsmart Mr. Bigg? That seems doubtful. Still, he has a team of operatives of varying skills—Venus, Apollo (with his big handgun), and the Munro Brothers (if, of course, he is correct in claiming their fealty). Let the bad times roll!
_"I don’t see how the kidnap plot would be welcomed by Mr. Bigg.
It will draw lots of unwanted attention when he is already occupied
With a complicated scheme unloading the gold"_
Solid point !
Indeed, as Big as that Mallet New Moon Maid.was (reproduced) using on her Tomb Stone.
The kidnapping will draw the Authorities attention to the Blackheart’s Ace Building immediately. Searches etc . . .
Problem is. “Greediness” - is often the downfall of the Bribery’s of this World. So Neil is right, he’ll probably “bite”!
Although, likely ‘unknown’ to Méliés and his cohorts Mr. Bribery already has the needed “Know How” - with ALL the “Blue Prints” and “Detailed Drawings” necessary to build his QWNSpace Coupe. These supplied to him by the late (Space Coupe) Pilot Euew Maay (see June 2, 1966)
The same Pilot Maay, had earlier for a fee of $10,000. Kidnapped Mr B’s Ecuadorian , turncoat henchman (and Head Shrinker) Nah Tey, and ‘ejected’ him into orbit around Earth from a Space Coupe.
Back then (see strips below) Diet Smith had mentioned to Tracy that the cost of building a Space Coupe was US$30 Million !
So Bribery on ‘second thought’ believed it was a whole lot simpler to “Steal” one and did so rather “easily” as these strips reveal.
If Bribery doesn’t ‘know’, he’ll soon find out, that The last Coupe has left Earth . . . likely for good, and Bribery unaware that Diet via his private remote control can recall it. There is no evidence that the remote (always in Diet’s possession) was ‘ever’ destroyed by his workers.
Bribery best bet will be to leave the building early with the Gold. More than sufficient to build a Fleet of Space Coupes.
But we’ll have to ‘wait, to see’ how Mike makes this ‘Cookie’ Crumble ! ?
Gweedo, until recently I had Verizon and it disconnected daily. I went through the ritual of calling them, getting patched to someone in Bangladesh who spoke 20% English, and they instructed me to reset the modem/router. That’s all they know. I dumped them, got Comcast Xfinity (which uses a cable), and my speed went up to 126 on the meter and no disconnects. Plus, if you ever do need to call them, you’ll speak to someone in Denver whom you can understand.
Gweedo responded,You might need a roommate who is willing to split the fee of better net. But as you say, you are patient. Long as we are blessed with your presence, anyway you can.-———————————————————————————
Thanks for the kind words, Gweedo. I am fine with things as they are.
When one contemplates Joe Staton’s new ‘interpretation’ of Apollo’s “bushy forward” - Hair Style (created to hide a “B” brand ?) you got to ‘think* that avenger09 is still Off the job doing the *Zzzzzzz’s* (?) Not ‘awake’ to note the follicle destruction and the movement of the hair to cover one eye in frontal views, yet shifts away to reveal the right eye quite easily, when he’s depicted in profile ?
Seems 09, is using (abusing?) too much bedtime . . . and ‘derelict’ in performing those functions that originally brought him here ?
And if we are in ‘speculation’ mode we might correctly assume, that the Moon Governor no longer holds Diet Smith in High Esteem (?) And thanks to Max C’s family “crucifixion”, no longer is close to Junior or Honeymoon. Not even a ‘visit to their Grandchild ?
Yet, he and his people, come to Earth rather easily, they are clearly not as far away as say - Pluto ? Note the recent visit to real Moon Maid’s Grave Site !
And all things ‘considered’ perhaps a spanking newSpace Coupe built by Moon People in ‘exchange’ for some Earth Titanium (unavailable on the Moon), yet - required as a necessary “heat resistant” metal, for space travel in the construction of any new or “additional” Space Coupes required !
As I recall, the Moon People discovered magnetic travel (Air Cars) before Diet did. What held them back from ‘Space Travel’, was the absence of heat resistant metals on the Moon
Also, I don’t remember exactly how fast a Space Coupe travels, but I don’t think it would take all that long to travel to Pluto in one, certainly not 9.5 years like the present spacecraft took. They could be that far away.
“Tungsten’s pretty heat resistant and in space its heavier weight counts for naught”-——————————————————————You may ask about Tantalum too ?
We’ll all have to ‘figure out’ why the Moon Governor never thought of Tungsten or Tantalum in all those years when he’d been ‘sitting quite pretty’ on Magnetic Propulsion ?
Gould never clarified all that for us, I’m just repeating what was said in the strip . . .In the absence of clarity it would seem the Moon never had those either ! ?
Morrow told Gweedo and I’m joining in…Gweedo, Vista Bill doesn’t need a roommate to split the “fee”; he’s got one (Rikki) that splits other things.-———————————————————————————————
