Yep. Matt Bors is making the point that there is no advantage to a woman in accusing a man of rape, whether true or not, despite the popular myths thereof. It typically means women get demonized, accused of bringing on the rape themselves, of being willing and then changing their minds or, worse, of having consensual sex and then deciding to lie (this is Camilla Cosby’s accusation, from way up the River of Denial). Oh, and for some reason it’s ALWAYS the man who gets the benefit of the doubt. The numbers are immense, and Cosby has already admitted under oath to doing this before. Only someone absolutely delusional would NOT believe Cosby is guilty.

What he confessed to 11 years ago in court documents DOES indicate behavior of a mentally unstable personality. Rape is about power or violence, whether a roofie, or a knife, not about sex per se.

When cultures use the raping of women as a “tool” of war, it also falls under “spoils” and right of the victor to take what he wants. Again not sex, but degradation of the vicitms.

Both sides of the accusations still find power in the media, if not in the courts. Public opinion is a dangerous thing.

@ approx. zero hours GMT 15th July, 2015, (10 hours ago) most newspapers/news websites were reporting:

“Whoopi Goldberg changes stance on Bill Cosby”

“…Goldberg also admitted she had been vocally supporting Cosby as she was unaware rape charges had a statute of limitations :”

“On Tuesday, she invited Abrams to explain the legalities behind the accusations.

”I always thought that rape cases were open-ended," Goldberg said. “What we have learned is, there’s no recourse for these women except what they’re doing.”

This has the hallmarks of the Jimmy Savile sexual abuse case(s) in Britain after his death.

It led to Operation Yewtree which has led to more arrests and of those arrested, some were charged and convicted.

A report of the investigation titled: ‘Giving Victims a Voice’ was also published.

Like Bill Cosby, Rolf Harris was a favourite TV personality of mine when growing up in South Africa (yeah, the Cosby Show was wildly popular amongst white audiences in the ’80s).

Savile, Harris & Cosby, made of the same stuff. At least Harris is now in jail.

While it means there is quite a likelyhood if it taking place, it doesn´t mean all the women are telling the truth. I´m not going to excuse his behaviour in the past – even if people can change since then – but unfortunately people still need to be able to prove their accusations with facts.

Also in regards to the point of advantage in accusing a man of rape – it all depends on the case at hand. There are plenty of cases where men, who were innocent, were given the guilty verdict because a woman accused him, or them of it. Which again is the reason you need to be able to prove your case – and not just automaticly trust people on their words alone.
