That is bacteria with a bad attitude.

A good attitude for bacteria would be to give pieces of themselves to everybody

It wouldn’t be a good attitude for those infected however.

There’s not enough there for it to be giving pieces away.

Dr. Mel can’t be expected to just stop mixing his Mt. Dew and take care of every strain of virulent bacteria that pops up.

Quick Dr. Mel, create a synthetic opposite sex organism and make them both forget about anything other than each other. (Oh, Oh, then they’d just reproduce out of control, wouldn’t they?)

Whatever that germ is, it sure isn’t a social disease.

Unless he borrowed greatly from existing organics, it would not survive long. Everything on Earth is descended from things which nearly everything else was trying to eat and which somehow succeeded in eating those other things.

We may not look it, but we are tough, not just tasty.
