Just a side note: After smoking cigars for over 60 years, it’s a wonder BB-Eyes has lasted this long as well! (Just kidding…all time lines considered!) I still hope that Bribery & Tracy have a face-to-face. After all, this would only be their 2nd one in all these years!
So, that answers one question. They’re on the second floor. That’s why it was easy to see the fight in the alley.
Somebody’s coming up in the elevator. Is it the cops? Who else would it be? (If it’s the cleaners, they’re going to be sorry they came to work today, unless they have bullet-proof vests.)
Now BB-Eyes is making jokes. Come to think of it, the people in the elevator had better have whip-proof vests, too.
I hate to be in that elevator…. I hope BB Eyes and Mumbles limit themselves to body shots or the body armor of whoever is in there is useless. That was a wise decision on Dick Tracy’s part to let Fritz Ann to take the lead. :)Nice avatar, Vista Bill.
@Neil Wick—-Possibly higher than the 2nd floor. The floor indicator lights above the elevator door indicate at what level the elevator is presently at or passing through. I don’t think that modern elevators have indicators like that anymore, & only showing now that it is just going up or down direction.
We know the elevator is on its way up. We don’t know on what floor BB-Eyes and Mumbles and “no gun” DoubleUp await it, nor do we know who (if anyone!) is in it. BB-Eyes’ sarcastic remark to DoubleUp in panel 3 sounds ominous for someone—but I’m not sure whom….“The suspense is killing me!”
What’s to be gained personally, by getting into a fresh gun fight with the Police ?. They’d just be creating additional charges and also run the risk of being shot. They just happen to be THERE, that’s not a Crime, in a way not un-like Doubleup having been visiting that betting pool.
Their current ‘mission’ had been to ‘take out’ Méliés, Apollo and Venus . . . but with the arrival of the police that’s obviously put on hold !
Sunny morning y’all.-——-The elevator may be a red herring. Tracy and company would have better sense than to use the elevator. They would take the stairs. And lock out the elevators with a special key just like firemen do. Of course I could be wrong.-———Y’all have a rewarding day.
Yep, the plot holes are starting to get pretty big……as was previously mentioned, BB and Doublei-up are not wanted for anything…..Doubleup just got through chatting with the cops at the gambling parlor. So why get in a gunfight with the cops? Also, BB is depicted as as an intelligent, logical, cool headed leader the whole strip….and now he’s going to take on the police force, and the swat team, when surrounded by them in a building, helicopters above, and with nothing but a handgun, yet. Ridiculous…….
“It’s a miracle you’ve lived this long.”This, from the guy who just happened to find a fully functioning aqua lung while entrapped within an old tire casing, underwater, in a pile of junk freshly dumped into the bay from a garbage scow!(I admit, this occurred to me after reading a comment at another site, but it was too good not to share it here.)
I can, nightgaunt! tho im not a “professional writer” so of course if I were to have plotholes it would be understandable, but for a professional (regardless of time constraints) to write intricate stories only to have to cut them short because “he ran out of time” is absurd
perhaps someone needs to plot out their stories better so that they can get the ENTIRE STORY told within the allotted time period.
“Sanford and Son,” which was based on Britain’s “Steptoe and Son,” as the end credits indicate.-—————————————————-Norman Lear became rich and was considered a comedy genius after remaking the British TV show “Til Death Do Us Part” as “All in the Family.” He also did “Sanford and Son,” and the spin-offs “The Jeffersons,” "Maude, and it’s spin-off, “Good Times.”
It would be helpful if we had a map of inside the building showing where everyone is. It seems the Blackhearts are scattered all over. Where are Honeymoon and Annie? Where is Mysta coming in and who will she encounter first? I would hope the MCU have some plan and aren’t coming in guns blasting.
While looking for the strip with intel on the Ace Tower, I also came across that contradictory statement regarding Melies’ relationship to the Munro Brothers …
If I had to reconcile the statements, I’d say that the Munro Brothers had their position in the Blackheart’s chain of command reshuffled so that they had someone else in the organization handing them orders, though their allegiance to Melies trumps their dedication to upper management.
Certainly, some are very good, but there are many that don’t capture that “certain something” that made the original brilliant. Subsisting on nothing but remakes is a poor strategy, in my opinion. Hollywood is doing a lot of that these days.
I didn’t miss those strips Night-Gaunt 49. Since Bribery has possession of the gold, and Melies kidnapped Diet, still think BB’s chances are better with a lawyer than trying to outgun police and a swat team, sorry.
Panel one view is from adjacent hi-rises, so I would say that Blackhearts tower is pretty high up.
It’s true that the view is from adjacent hi-rises, but I think we’re seeing essentially the whole building. The shape of the building works better as an Ace of Hearts playing card if it’s not too tall.

Wanna bet BB Eyes and Mumbles ventilate someone or some group that’s NOT the cops?

The Blackhearts are up, so that rules out the basement.
They’ll be ‘going down’ soon enough.

Morning, Tracy Fans!
My first thought was that Annie and Honeymoon would be in the elevator, but they wouldn’t be coming up, they’d be going down!

As for those elevator indicator lights, does the Blackhearts tower only have 6 floors? Doesn’t seem like much of a tower.

I knew someone on this board would think of that!
Apparently, BB-Eyes and his group haven’t considered that possibility.SYDNEY PHILLIPS over 9 years ago
