Well, Kirbee’s legs are much longer than Chic’s so they are probably making much better time than if Chic were trying to keep up. (Wally Don’t You Walk So Fast ) I would like to believe that is Clive’s scout, doing the Zombie thing looking for Clive’s brain, (brains, brains), I suspect it is not a good sign. But who knows, it is probably a TopSider’s Scout from the earlier display, it could be a rogue. Or even Petey’s friend’s scout. TopWebComics voting links are in my profile for anybody who wants to promote Endtown and others in the voting.

    Thanks, JusSayin

Uh oh! looks like the dittoes put on the long version of “Inna Gadda Da Vida” and went to take a crap. That scouter is following them, I suspect it has always been following them..For quite some time.Subterfuge is only a game for the patient, very patient..

You know what would be funny? What would be funny is if the gang got captured and stuffed inside the PT that’s controlling the scout. And they find out the PT’s nickname is Snipe.

Should actually read the posts ahead of mine before I post. Hard to come up with something original. But I should say, in re “the dittoes”: Doesn’t look like they’re casting shadows, so maybe they are protecting them.

No shadows. I believe the dittos are on the job. But this means there a topsiders in the vicinity.

Although the dittos can hide them from sight, how far back would their footprints be hidden? Would a mysterious line of new footprints be noted?

The fourth panel is interesting in that it shows a short line of footprints that stop 15-20 feet behind them. Is something erasing the footprints? I wonder if Wally or other mutants who’ve wandered the wastes have given thought to footprints and the fact that they could, if undisturbed give the TS a path to them.

Holly looks a little upset with Kirbee. Is she still holding a grudge?Kirbee is showing herself a real asset, carrying most of the supplies and Chick, and probably Clive as well.

Scout above could be wondering why footprints appear out of nowhere from this area of nothing that keeps moving.

Since there are clouds in the atmosphere, then it seems there would be wind or breezes or even a haboob, but I haven’t thought about the weather much.I don’t recall ever seeing rain, or them needing to wear warm clothes, or even being too hot.All that has just never shown up.But with clouds, that would make at least breezes a part of the wehter.

Panel two is the best, love the contrast of emotion, caution, anger, fear, joy. This is a powder keg, regardless of what’s following them.

I think the footprints go only so far because of artistic styling. Artists often use only enough detail to indicate detail that continues, like a few bricks to indicate a brick wall without drawing every single brick. The flyer may be tracking them so that they’d lead the Topsiders to another colony. It may be from the group that Sarah called in, or it may have always been following Wally and Holly. They may be going from colony to colony unwittingly bringing destruction, and being allowed to escape to lead the Topsiders to the next target.

It has just crossed my mind that, this “thing” that has been alluded to, could very well be a new topsider weapon. We all know well the lengths they will go to to create something mutated into something they can use to their advantage. The PT’s and Mutts are prima facie evidence that this is possible. Perhaps Jim and to a lesser extent Sarah were instruments of this weapon. Jim was clearly plugged into an “altered state of consciousness” at the time of his demise. I don’t see shadows, yet where have the Dittoes gone? And unless the sun is in front of them the drone will cast a shadow. I’ve seen birds in flight cast their shadows upon both the sand and snow in my travels. My first time on desert maneuvers, they had the IDF flying American F-15s over our heads at about or under 100 feet which was against regulations to try to scare us.The shadows would cross your path then you would hear the noise and shock. It can be very disturbing to those not used to it. I foolishly asked my Sargent,"הם טסים כל כך נמוכים, במלחמה, זה יהיה אפשרי לירות בם?They fly so low, in war, would it be possible to shoot them?He laughed so loud over the noise the whole squad could hear him. "נסה, אתה יכול!במלחמה, עד שאתה רואה את הצל שלו תהיה פצצה או טיל עומד זעץ בתחת!Try, you can! In war, by the time you see his shadow there will be a bomb or missile about to zetz you in the tuchus!I get the same chill now that I got then, looking down upon our heroes. “It’s already too late for them”.I doubt that drone is friendly, Clive is inactive and no longer interfaced with the controls or a transmitter that could control the craft.Clive needs electricity and possibly some kind of gas, or neurotransmitter based nutrients to function or breathe if that is still possible.Clive is “Off” in technical parlance, and dead in most everyone else’s eyes. What else would you classify a piece of grey matter, utterly devoid of electrical activity?I hope, if Clive dreams, does he dream of electric Sheep!

The “casserole dish” Clive is sitting in may have a transponder in it and the drone may be locking onto it. While the PT was crushed, there may have been a way the drone could draw power from it just by being nearby.

Even if it is Clive’s drone, following a transponder signal, the group has problems, The TS probably have a way to track operational air scouts and even if they didn’t, it would be pretty easy to see.I also wonder how much longer there will be “junk around to repurpose” in the ruins. Scavengers like Wally have been doing this for 6-7 years and no new junk is being created. They should run out. It seems like the foragers are already running out of canned food to scavenge.

Coyoty:Either that, or the colony had some kind of sentry system that warned them of the TSer’s encroachment on the area.
