And “reality” wins! to quote Gomer Pyle, Surprise, Surprise, Surprise. So is this the one where the hot teacher seduces the star QB and hilarity ensues? I’ll watch that. Of course if she hasn’t been seen in Milford since the 60’s she’s gotta be pushing 70 by now. She’s got some pretty good surgeons I’ll give her that.

For the “In case you haven’t herard State Champs” this story line seems to have left the team and actual games behind.Hopefully Marti Moon will get off his bender and give this plot a real dose of reality!Bill W.

You can take the Holly out of Wood, but not the Dobbs out of Holly, er the girl out of the Wood, but not the Wood out of the girl. No, you can take the girl out of Hollywood, but not the Holly out of the Wood. Sorry, it’s just not working no matter how I try to fit it in.

Oh, I get it. The reality show is about Milford, even though Milford was perpetually stuck in the 70’s (who didn’t know what reality shows were).

Gil better not fall for it. Next thing, the cameras will be at his house in the bushes, looking for the next expose’. There are a lot of things to hide at the Thorp household.

Holly Dobbs is Gil’s old fame. I pulled this from a 1993 article on the Hartford Courant, “But for much of the ’60s, the literally level-headed Gil dated Holly Dobbs, a Milford English teacher with acting aspirations. In the summer of ’67, just as Gil was going to propose, she won a part in a New York play and left.”

OMG, if this is what I think it is, we won’t see a football game until after Thanksgiving. I wonder if she becomes a reality show binge eater like the boys at QB camp.

Is that three of the Manson chicks in panel three? Looks like one of the photos of them hanging around in that rocky cave at the Spahn ranch.

Okay, so it’s a reality show storyline. My predictions of where this leads starts with 1) Holly fawns over Tru(e) so much that Boo will go all Radley over her and draw a suspension. 2) Mimi, who probably never met Holly before, will get jealous and fear that Holly could give Gil what Mimi has not: Children (Or children who are better in sports and don’t have to be sent to third-world sweat shops to make themselves useful) and 3) Marty Moon falls in love with Holly and, suspecting that Gil will try and close in, will fan the flames of Mimi’s jealousy and try to soil Gil’s reputation.

… Then again, everything could go happily normal in Milford and Rub-Ham will lull everyone to sleep with a boring fall sports storyline

Gil, who disdain most media (which doesn’t explain why he has to put up with Marty) will protest the reality show, only to have the superintendent show him the contract where the school gets a six-figure deal to take part, to which Gil demands a large share to start the "Gil Thorp — STATE CHAMPION COACH Museum where the music room used to be.

Since this story arc started with Marty Moon feeling sorry for himself, it will have to end with his redemption. He will realize he is still in love with Holly (despite Peaches, who will not be mentioned or appear), and she will turn him down in such a way that he will reinvigorate his career and personal life. You heard it here first.

Yeah, this will definitely involve Marty trying to win her back. And failing, dramatically. But won’t fail, is today’s Mopped Up Thorp. No MUT tomorrow, hopefully Sunday night it will be online.

In reality, the reason Holly went out of state was to avoid the men. However, the Milford clerk may soon refuse to issue her a license after she meets…

Boycott this one?? But it has more potential than any story in a long time. Granted it has nothing to do with sports or “topical teen-oriented issues” but I can use a break from the whiny little teenage narcissists.
