I think Tracy is different when relaxed on the job than when he’s got something that requires his full attention. Hence, “Flintheart” in the field but “Vitamin” in the office.

Mister Magoo’s Christmas Carol was the first animated Christmas special made for prime-time broadcast. It was first shown in 1962, predating Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964) and A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965).

Always fascinating . . . No, no, Not “Flintheart” or the lecturing finger this time !

It’s whenever, pictures of Rogues appear on the background monitor at HQ (panel 1 today) This reader . . .never really knows for “sure”, if this is one of Joe’s non verbal “indicators” - intended to hint (tell us?) those individuals are still ALIVE ?Recall (unlike with Fritz Ann) other “outcomes” 4 weeks ago, were all left murky at “Wrap Up” time ! ?

Seems (to me) Joe had along the way, picked up (the unannounced) ‘practice’ of placing a Full Moon in many a Sunday page’s 1st panel, as an ‘early warning’ signal that new Moon Maid (sorry , Mystra Chimera) would be turning up shortly, (usually) within the following 10 days. And sure enough if you’d been ‘observant’, alert enough, she would happily like “clock work” appear every time ! Mike on the other hand would pass on his forward ‘tips’ unambiguously, in straight forward posts.

So depending on what ’you’re about’ these heads (‘signals’?). Could be high interest moments for an alert individual ? But I’m not going to get myself “all excited” if this remains a mystery for awhile ! (?) Sufficient to note (‘already’ mentioned in a post) that the “traditional” Dick Tracy end of story ‘wrap up’ - practice, on “outcomes”, has not been faithfully followed. Just another Mini Mystery slipped in. As it becomes more apparent that Writer Mike, happily leans toward that kind of writing. No harm for those that feel a sense of comfort in this new world of story end “uncertainties” ! ?

Perhaps it’s indiscrete (rude?) of me to ask ? But ‘thoughts’ do cross (some?) concerned minds . . .Clean “wrap up”? - outcomes omitted in error? Or intentional? Wave a Mandrake wand, and one can slot it safely in as a - “Crafty Mystery” ?Good to have readers in an ongoing “state of wonderment”. on final outcomes every-time, or when or if, these guys are ever going to DIE (?) Shot? Or drowned before?. You get the sense that “B-B” literally means - “Bouncing Back” !A Decay of earlier Tradition ?

A cadre of “regular” rogues seems to have been ‘inserted’ with us, “all the time”, every year (from 2011), 5 years now and growing ? The word ‘perpetual’ (fleetingly) comes to mind ?

    Regular status? August 12, 2015

And ‘thoughtlessly’ (?) I’d ignored that Superman had his Luthor and others , Batman Joker/Penguin etc.More conforting than original Dick Tracy ?So perhaps early next season, the B-B team will move back to the Apparatus ? Now that Bribery’s ‘back bone’ in the City has been crushed.

All perfectly “natural speculations” to cross our minds (“inspired” perhaps, by the writing style?) unless, one feels more ‘comfortable’ sticking their heads in the sand

And as we move on to year-end, it seems there had been a July Kadaver intervention, yet nothing further ?

What happened? - promise? performance? July 23, 2015

Not negative comments, unless to query ‘change’ equates to the same thing ?I’d be “surprised” if similar ‘thoughts’ had not occurred to many here, who have deeper understanding of Dick Tracy!

Are those on the monitors live footages?I was thinking that BB Eyes could still be in the hospital and even if he is out already, why are they not in prison clothes. They look like they are going to a costume party rather than in prison.VENUS LiVES!

BB-Eyes is presumed alive and healing up after surgery for his wound. Had he died, we likely would have seen Tracy informed of this. He will face jail time and may not be seen for quite a while. Might BB shorten his sentence by ratting out the “specialist” who helped steal the stolen gold from Choo Shooz? Mumbles was either sent “away” by Punjab or subdued for the SWAT team to take in to custody. Same with the Munro brothers. We never saw Punjab’s blanket, so I place my bet on Mumbles being in custody. Venus is an interesting case. We have good reason to believe she died on panel, yet it is not definitive. She may well have been rushed to the ER and saved. It is wise for Team Tracy to leave some wiggle room, just in case they decide to bring back the crimson-haired vixen. Not every event need transpire on-panel or be explained at the expense of pacing. What is left to our imaginations can be the sweetest plum.

As one who grew up with 2.5 channels (as I’ve said, one was so fuzzy, you could never truly see it) I remember clearly some shows, and Mr. Magoo’s A Christmas carol was one of those shows. I saw it several times before cable and I remember it fondly.

It is on DVD now and it was as fun now as it was back then. I hope there will be some showing of Mr. Flintheart’s performance in the strip. It would be delightful to see a thespian of his skill. (cough, ahems)

Like others, I have fond childhood memories of Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol. It would pair nicely with Rudolph for a holiday double-feature.

This will be fun! Vitamin Flintheart as the Nearsighted Mr. Magoo as Ebenezer Scrooge in a Bob Merrill and Jule Styne musical version of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol in Joe Staton and Mike Curtis’s DickTracy comic strip! And,I suspect, there will be villainy afoot! This could go far in alleviating Seasonal Affective Disorder as days grow shorter, darker, colder….Carry on!

The colorization is back, finally! (Refresh if you don’t see them.) They fixed up yesterday’s and today’s, but not Monday’s.

So, the film is definitely in production at the Patterson Playhouse, though the newspaper said “next week,” I think, so production may not start till the end of the week.
