G’day Tracy fans. Returned home from a nice weekend road trip. Good to be reminded that Tracy is no homophobe. Equal protection under the law should mean exactly that. @✯✯ Vista Bill Raley and Comet ✯✯1) I will say, Bill. That a second monitor is one of the best technological breakthroughs ever devised. I cannot even use a system without dual monitors anymore. An example of my desk from a year or so ago is here.

2) When W8 came out, I went to Best Buy, and Office Depot and tried it. I assure you that I’ve been on computers almost continuously since 1981 and I couldn’t figure out W8! It took the better part of a day of research and trying again a few times to work with it. I thought then “This will be another major flop” and it was correct.

The problem with Vista was that it was a bad roll-out. They needed another year of testing and adjusting — which of course as you put became W7. It was in essence a last gasp of the ‘buy new hardware to support the OS thing. After Win2k computers became fast enough to handle the software but MS didn’t hear that it seems. Now W7 can run on systems dating back to 1999. Now Win10 from what I’ve heard isn’t worth the time or headaches. My pappy always told me, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”

—Earlier this year I acquired a laptop with W8.1 (yuk!). I never adapted to it. I installed W10 and that still didn’t do much for me. That machine is destined for my daughter. It’s a nice little laptop but I have a larger Dell Latitude Laptop (with Vista)..Some have said that W7 is like Vista SE (second edition).

@Night-Gaunt49I have heard too, that it will be streamed online, I think on CBS.com. I’ve been watching the Flash on CW.com that way and it works, if you have at least a 1mbps download. Although CW’s shot their foot off by insisting adblocking is turned off, and the make matters worse. Even if it’s turned off it still won’t work. I just watch it elsewhere, w/ad blocking on ;)

@Night-Gaunt49That is a good point, about rubbing it in. As you said it’s a [I]learned hatred[/I] and it’s based on [I]learned[/I] cultural mores. I’ve encountered far too many people like you mentioned and sadly it’s not just a Christian hatred. The Native Americans, ones I work with, and grew up with are not as tolerant to us as some may think. They’re name for us is ‘two spirits’ and some cultures actually revere us, some hate. Thankfully I was strongly influenced by Dr. King, and several others early on to hate ones that hate me.

@Neil WickThank you for that. In the meantime the only other program we had to have (IE) is now is not needed by the few hold out companies we worked for. So I’m hard at work getting the other program working under Linux. I think in 4 years Windows will be gone and the last bastion of our servers will be pure linux too.

Well yesterday, he heard that two readers had ‘ceased reading’ the strip ?

Apparently, what had ‘put them off’ (?) was realizing that George Pataki appeared in Dick Tracy looking at LIFE through the ‘dead end’ of a biological telescope ?

They’d seemed ‘comfortable’ with Bill’s obsession over Rikki? (no complaints?) and I’d have to agree Bill’ does have good taste !

George patting Brad on the back . . . was a different case, some here, prided themselves as living in a more “understanding” place. In a way, not unlike an “altered attitude” Tracy. who for work now abhors the CHASE (?) … unable to find clues or to identify the culprit leading to efforts to "catching him(her) which was the thing . . . but now INSTEAD conducting (dull?) ‘investigations’ from one place (maybe two), scene of the Crime, but essentially IN comfortable Office space . . . (Really ?) Well . . .SEEING is ‘Believing’, for that’s what the panels SHOW (even Pataki there on the back monitor like a criminal in tow)It’s a “shaping up” of new Dick Tracy, the modern way to Go !

But in panel 3 a more serious issue has inadvertently been raised by Lizz . . . Like my compatriot with his Death List, Hers and His answers* ?* I Can’t wait for tomorrow to find out ??

But I suspect Tracy doesn’t have the answer. “Writer” Mike, hasn’t ‘allowed’ him to find out. Like in that French “terrorist” attack at the Concert Hall in Paris, we’re still waiting to find out who lived and who died !Short changed . . . ? And sadly, you’re left with the “impression” some here defend that unfortunate lack of clarity and substance(and worse - try to “twist it” as brilliant writing technique?)
