Been a vegetarian for about six months now, and so far I’ve found that I’m okay with it. I use the meat substitutes in some dishes. Plenty of variety out there. I’ve lost a few pounds, too. I wasn’t obese, but I was a few pounds too heavy. Anyway, if I can do it, anyone can.
The key to eternal life is to enjoy nothing. You won’t actually live forever, but it will seem like a very long time and you may find that you are glad when it is over. And, as veal, you will demand a much higher price.
The mayor of my home town recently announced that the city was experiencing a diabetes epidemic. He did not mention the diabetes type but based on the porkers I see in the grocery store, my guess is Type 2.Imagine the tragic loss to society if Katie Holmes had the figure those fatties on the sidewalk? Would the rungs on the ladder break as she climbed toward Dawson’s window? Would Dawson just slam the window shut and yell to Katie now stuck on the ladder: Wrong window!? If Katie even made it to the window, would she get stuck in the window frame? Would Dawson have to pull her through the frame possibly causing injury? Worst of all, what would happen to all of my Katie Holmes fantasies?
Jeez, got to love the complaints. There’s nothing here that says ‘only eat vegetables.’ All you complainers are just imagining it.The idea of eating vegetables for a proper diet has been around forever.* I mean, didn’t your mother tell you to eat your veggies?-*Yes, forever. What do you think Eve ate? Cheeseburgers?
Good morning! I’m putting this post on the sites I used to frequent. I wanted you to know that I’m among the living, and well (considering that I’m eighty). See, I was up in Wisconsin in October and early November, and got so busy trying to achieve a semblance of order and cleanliness, that I didn’t feel I had time to contribute comix comments. Soon I lost my addiction to commenting, and gained a new addiction to the extra one- to two-and-a-half hours I’d gained daily. I’ve missed everyone, but the new addiction chugs on. Meant to inform you before, but it was always too late in the day. Keep calm and carry on the tradition!
Seven & a half billion people, factory food & money in the bank all have to be factored into the “why is this happening” question… we really don’t want to forget the last 50,000 years of mankind’s evolution either.
Once again a broad stroke pronouncement for a complex problem that misses the point that one size does not fit all. All wrapped up in a poor attempt at humor.
Everyone ignoring the truth, I see. “The 2015 DGAC will not bring forward this recommendation because available evidence shows no appreciable relationship between consumption of dietary cholesterol and serum (blood) cholesterol, consistent with the AHA/ACC (American Heart Association / American College of Cardiology) report. Cholesterol is not a nutrient of concern for overconsumption.”Whereas plant-based diets, high in sugars and starches, WILL kill you.
When we took on the paleolithic diet (meat, vegetables, fruit, not wheat or milk) I lost 50 pounds and never felt hungry. I don’t think one type of diet is necessarily better than another, but I do think you have to think about what and how much your are eating and how it is affecting your body. Not everyone flourishes on a vegetarian diet, not everyone does well on an omnivorous diet. I just wish we could eat what we want, like or need without being judged by someone else.
Our body tells us what it wants and needs….Eat it, whatever it is……Consciousness is not just in the brain…It’s in the whole body…Think about it, my mind doesn’t get around to figuring out that I need more vitamin C ….But all of a sudden I’m eating tangerines by the bushel…My body is aware of the situation….

Some of us eat to live, others live to eat. For me, everything in moderation.

“Vegetarian” from the ancient Cro-Magnon language meaning “Bad Hunter”!
Eat how you wish. Don’t preach at me.

They say that “you are what you eat”.
All of the tasty animals that I eat are vegetarians. That means that they are vegatables.
I especially like the beef and bacon flavored veggies.

I smell an Abbot & Costello routine:
“Who recommended we eat more fruits and veggies?”
“That’s right, WHO recommended that.”
“I just wanna know who said that!”
“I just told you, WHO did!!”
“That’s what I wanna know!!”

Thanks to so many here today for so hysterically (not in the funny definition) validating the accuracy of the cartoon.

This is why I have libertarian leanings. I believe people have the right to choose what to eat, regardless how the self-righteous may feel about it.
