I’m so sorry. I lost mine in 2000 and it hurt. A lot. My therapist said “The only way out is through” and I just went with the grieving process. So big hugs. Give yourself the time and space you need.

I am happy for you that you got to have your mother in your life for so long. This strip will endure as tribute to her and your wonderful view of life. Rock on.

My condolences. I find I still talk to my mom several years after she has passed. In many ways, she will always be with you.

My condolences also. You wrote a great strip today. My mother was born the same year as yours and will be 90 in January. We’ve been very fortunate; she has a few physical issues but her mind is still as sharp as a tack, and she still lives independently. Even now she’s there for us when we need her, and the older I get the more I appreciate her for it.

My condolences, Jenny. My Mom is getting ready to turn 80, is in good health, but I think about her passing, because it is the one certainty in life. My heart goes out to you, & the strip brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.

Mom died in 2013, and your strip reminds me of the funny things she said and did. I’m not surprised, then, to learn, you used your own mother and her friends as an inspiration.

So sorry to hear of your loss. It’s hard when we lose them, and it hurts like the devil, no matter what our age. The good news is in time the pain eases and you’re left with the comfort of all the good memories left behind. Goddess comfort you and hold you safe and warm beneath Her wings. She’ll take good care of your mom until you meet again, in the fullness of time, and you’ll have many new stories to share with her. <3
