Coming Soon š At the beginning of April, youāll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Bea Thorndike looks pretty good in her cameo. I say itās a cameo because Tracy has to go racing off to yet another urgent call. The lesson to be learned here is that it doesnāt do any good to hide your safe when thereās a criminal running around who can see through walls.
Mrs. Thorndike is looking pretty good. She hasnāt aged a day since the 1940s. Cartoon time is fun!
Gweedo cautioned,I hope Rikki is wearing her black onyx necklace as Iām afraid even the underground dresser with the mausoleum style drawers may not be immune to Spex-ray vision-āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā-.Our Johns ManvilleĀ® Doublerā¢ Asbestos Walls defy Spex-ray snooping!
Gweedosaid: āMay be like a shoe store in here with all the droppings to comeā¦āAt least itās not bat droppings, like Bill and Rikki have to deal with!
Gweedo stated,I bet the flyby litter box has runway marker lights on the perimeter.-āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā-.Yep! Bought it at the local BatSmartā¢!
On the āsideā, Rich (Vaulted) Homes for Specs and SpicyAnd perhaps at their age a SELFIE - with āhands held highā before the open Vault (?).
Mrs Thorndike a close friend of Chief Brandon always held Tracy and his work in āhigh esteemā. Gave him a present - an Album sheād compiled ā A Rogues Gallery of his more āfamousā earlier FoesThese too always seemed on good terms ā¦ (?) Perhaps a little āstiffnessā here thatās over the top ? ā¦ the problem was her, āspoilā niece *Debbie Thorndike
The Turtle Neck ātopā on Lizz today, partially masked (on GoComicās) by purple colour and a small jacket is more clearly noted in Black and White (Houston Chronicle).
It reminded very much of a similar White āTurtle Neckā Dick Locher had on her for several years in his time,Some (unkindly perhaps), thought it an āunofficialā uniform, others - a casualty of a low budget (?)
what I wanna know isā¦how did the apparatus find Specs so quickly AND manage to get him to their hideout to give him a position within their organization?!!?
doesnāt that sound more than a little ācart before the horseā to anyone else besides me?
Scrapbook rogues: The Mole, Little Face Finny, Deafy Sweetfellow (of the bicycle ring), Mamma and Jerome Trohs, Karpse (made poison out of molasses), Edward Nuremoh (faked marriage to Tess Trueheart) and Frankie Redrum: The Man Without a Face (āThe Blankā).
That was something that Jack Benny lamented about moving from Radio to TV. On Radio you could do highly elaborate gags like The Vault with just a sound effects guy, Mel Blanc and Joe Kearns at the end as Ed the security guard. On TV if you went into the vault you had to show the steps, the death traps, the alligator, the vault door and then someone as the security guard. It was highly elaborate ā and expensive ā for not that great of a return in terms of laughs. Jack once said that the best TV version of the Vault gag wasnāt done on his TV show but on Lucille Ballās show where they had more money available, and could make the vault a big portion of the episode.
Part of the reason why āThe Mouse That Jack Builtā was so great was that Jack and his whole cast, including Mary Livingston who was mostly retired by that time, were active participants in the cartoon. Reportedly the only payment Jack asked for doing his own voice on the cartoon was a copy of the print for himself.
āThat was very interesting, Sask. Some of that Iād heard before, such as the cartoon. But the rest was news to me. Especially Ms. Ballās show having more money. Mr. Bennyās show was a big hit for many years. Thank you!
It appears that the Thorndike Caper was indeed a burglary (as distinct from what it was at first called, a robbery), making it even less deserving of Tracyās attention but for whom it involved, viz., a wealthy pal (and no doubt big political contributor) of Mayor Armstrong. But the theft from the well-hidden safe will turn out to be significant as a little footnote to the big HSB heist, once Diet Smith has his chance to inform Tracy of what was stolen from Smith Industries R & D.How the Three Detectives (Four, once the additional one mentioned by Mike over on that social networking site gets on board) become involved is not clear, unless this crime spree takes on international dimensionsā¦.
Bedtime for me. I supposedly have some free time Friday afternoon, so Iām going to try to finish off the shirt design then. The special discount runs until midnight Friday night.
