The one advantage of being an expat is that I am not constantly bombarded with campaign ads. I can opt ( or not ) to watch as much or as little of the U.S. political posturing and positioning for the presidency.

What I do find most annoying, is the amount of ‘beg" letters I get via email from politicians, pacs, and political parties – all asking for my contribution. I am not sure I am targeted because I am a registered Independent, and therefore fair-game for both major parties and sometimes the fringe groups, or it’s because I’m a recovering news junkie and my online subscriptions to various media outlets triggers the feeding frenzy for my fivers.

News flash to both Dems. & Reps., I I had the type of money to contribute to your campaigns, I wouldn’t have had to move to another country ! ( Although, truth be told, I would have, anyway. )

Poor Todd, not the only one surprised. Not think Flo and Eddie expected it would ever improve. Welcome to looney noise ya can’t turn off.

I call this past year as “Send in the Clowns” time…. Not funny at all though. I’ll wait and see who survives the mud slinging stupidity before I care to follow serious decisions, if the final 2 do get serious!

I agree with Todd. I’m sick and tired of the “Trump and Hillary Show” at 6 PM every evening on all the networks. The only saving grace is that they run three minutes of commercials for each minute of so-called “news.”

Conservative = taker Just look at the news in Oregon. Armed White Christian Terrorists, calling themselves Milita Men wrapping themselves in the American Flag, but showing no respect for it in their actions, have taken over a federal building in a National Reserve. Any darker skinned group would have been taken down by force already. Yet, the government agencies are taking their time to negotiate. Granted largely it’s likely due these big tough cowards generally bring their grandmothers and children to hide behind. After all, the thought of actually having to shoot at someone who is trained to shoot back, terrifies these cowards and the FBI doesn’t want to give them what they want. Though, one has to wonder of the morals of anyone who whould hide behind children, as they did at the Bundy ranch. You want the true face of cowards and takers, look at the Bundy Gang of Thugs. The people they claim to be supporting, a father and son who had been convicted of arson, but improperly sentenced, as their sentences were well below the mandatory minimum of their states laws. Who through their own lawyers do not want to be associated with this group of thugs in any way shape or form. They plan to report to the police, though I’m sure they will appeal, even they seem to recognize these thugs don’t really care about them, except to use them to further their terrorist base. The Bundy Thugs real aim is to steal and use land own by everyone in America, Federal and/or State, but don’t want to pay for it’s use to make millions of dollars. They also don’t want to be regulated, or even more importantly, don’t want to be truely good land stewards responsible for it’s care.-Sorry for this, perhaps misplaced rant, but until the media starts calling these guys what they are, thugs, terrorists, takers, evil…. one has to wonder what has gone wrong with our media. After all, there is no breaking news live feed of the situation and as far as I can find there has been no resolution as of yet. If they were Heck, the most reporting of it has been on foreign news outlets it would seem. I this were Muslims, a street gang, or such all the media outlets would be all over this. But a bunch of heavily armed white guys forcibly taking over a federal building two days ago, No big deal?BTW, people do not brings firearms to a ‘peaceful’ demonstration.

Haven’t seen Victoria in a long while, either — I guess she and Joe aren’t engaged any more.
