The nice thing about having two cats is that if spoil the lap moment to go get a beer, the other one will come up and take her turn at occupying the lap…..
The nice thing about having two cats is if one has to get off your lap when you go get a beer…the other one will take it’s place…Plus, they have somebody to commiserate with about those stupid humans…I recommend female cats, and sisters in particular, but definitely two…
I have a brother and sister. They are almost two and they still play together like kittens. My daughter’s rescue group fetched five of them from a dumpster. I picked the two friendliest and liveliest of the bunch and adopted them after they had been fostered by my daughter, spayed and given their shots. When I visited my daughter, the little girl cat walked up to me, climbed my leg an went to sleep in my lap while her brother “attacked” my hand. They chose me, not vice-versa. I agree about having two. Three times as much fun as one and the extra cost is negligible. They chase each other all over the house and play and are a ball to watch.
We use, “could you _______, I’m C.O.L.” (or D.O.L. depending). We have office cats, and a relaxrd atmosphere, so the staff occasionally gets to say this to the bosses, grin.)
I always found that the warm spot was filled with cat upon my return from fetching a drink and a bit of cheese. And: is it just Arlo or does Jimmy have a thing for cheese? That is a BIG bit of cheese.
You know, whatever you might think about Islam – O’l Mohamed sounds like a decentl guy – there’s little story about how he cut the sleeve off of his shirt rather than disturb the cat who was sleeping on it.
How the heck we get from a cat loving man to today, who knows?
I have read that little story about cutting off the sleeve so as not to disturb a sleeping cat as it applies to Aristotle, Da Vinci, Einstein and now Mohammed!
Mine is the master of the “ooze.” I will be on my laptop when I suddenly realize that there is a cat on my midsection, between me and the laptop. I have no memory of her arrival! If I push her away because I am busy, she will wait until I am concentrating and then “ooze” on to my lap and settle in for the duration. I’m always surprised when I come up for air and discover she is there!
She also likes to lie on the arm of my recliner right next to the exhaust fan of the laptop with her face in the warm air from the fan. I just have to watch to make sure she is not blocking the air flow
Our two female cats raised our german shepherd/sharpei mix dog. He was abandoned in the alley when he was 10 weeks old, and the cats took him to raise. He was a confused pup for a while before he figured out if he was a dog or a cat!

A kitten and a puppy can be just as much fun if they are raised together and are the same age.

There must have been a previous panel where Arlo picks up the cat and puts him on his lap.

It’s definitely like this with my husband at our house. Three cats, two dogs – there’s almost always a lap full of someone.

…funny, kd1sq, the way I heard it, it was the Buddha that couldn’t disturb a sleeping cat…

My sister’s husband gestures like that when he wants something, but they don’t have a cat.
