Well, Tracyâs back from Cuba and Mole is properly married. Iâll try to get my story summary ready for Saturday morning, as I promised before.
In the meantime, we will hopefully begin to learn just what Notta has been up to. Apparently, it required Dick to be out of the country (or out of town) to put it into gear, but we havenât seen any results yet, so maybe whatever it is is still happening.
whereâs chief patton? I would expect him there since he was tracysâ original partner and was involved with tracy in the original first few conflicts with the mole.
Since Neil Wick and others did research yesterday, and came up with the fact that shipâs captains, mayors, etc. are not really allowed by law to perform weddings, how is it that Tracy can do this? We speculated that he might be a Justice of the Peace, but Mike Curtis just sort of brought this in out of nowhere. And Uncle Ray, who obviously is an ordained minister, is standing right there. I donât get this â maybe Ray did the legal marriage, and Mole just wanted Tracy to be involved with the ceremony some how?
When my wife and I were married, we wanted a friend who was studying for the priesthood to perform the ceremony. However, he was not yet ordained. The solution was that he brought another priest along with him as a co-celebrant. Our friend performed the ceremony and the ordained priest signed the documents. It looks like that is what is happening here. Tracy is officiating the ceremony and Uncle Ray will sign the documents to make it legal.
Regarding shipsâ captains performing marriages: It would depend upon where the ship was located at the time of the wedding I would think. If the ship were in US waters, it would likely be operating under US laws. If the ship were in international waters, I would think that it would operate under the laws of wherever the ship was registered. In any case, the marriage would not be legal until the documents were filed civilly. No matter where you are married, it is not legal until you file the civil documents and fulfill the requirements (blood tests, etc.) of the jurisdiction where you file the documents.
As for Mayors, that would also depend upon the authorities granted by the local jurisdiction. Civil marriages do not always require a ceremony. Sometimes you only have to file the paperwork in the presence of witnesses.
By the way, it may surprise some of you that little old me is legally authorized by the State of New York to preform weddings which I have had the privilege of doing. Go figure! LOL!

YAY!Congratulations to the newlyweds! May the Mole family live happily ever after![Although, this being Dick Tracy, there is a strong possibility that they wonât.]
Does it shoot a flame out the back when it takes off too ?
Thatâs a very good question! I saw a video of him driving it, but they never showed the back of the car, so I couldnât tell if it even had that round part, but I assume it has.

Iâd expected an entire day of âJerry Kingâ explaining how he came to own a 1966 Batmobile.

They skipped the part where they said the names. I hoped to hear The Moleâs real name.
