BTW, this IS a little unique in the pantheon of “Size Matters” jokes..But I kind of wonder what kind of mind comes up with an idea like this?…..I’d love to stroll around in Miller’s brain a while…..
Yar, I think this one was a bit obtuse also; but then I live in a rural area. On the other hand, I walk around the city at lunchtime, so I see frequent occurrences of doggie digestive end product left by rude, crude, and sociopathic owners.
I looked at the strip. Didn’t understand it. Thought the leash was an electrical cord at first. Enlarged it. Saw it was a leash and thought, “How is dragging a building around funny?” Then thought of Clifford, the Big Red Dog, but didn’t see how taking him for a walk while texting was a problem. Wasn’t until I saw Richard’s post that I really got it.
Maybe I’m a bit slow (Still B.C. this morning) but had the couple been holding their noses, or one of them said “Ewww!” I think I would have picked up on it faster.
But then I don’t know if Wiley intended a really slow dawning or not. You know how sneaky he can be at times.
When looking at it with a fresh eye this morning, in the small size of print in the newspaper, I realized that it was a bit too obtuse. I should’ve given more information, like having the two characters yell, “HEY! ARE YOU GONNA PICK THAT UP?!”. I always aim for subtly, but sometimes my aim is off.
doublejake, I enjoy thinking too, it’s good to exercise the brain, every once in a while…….But now-a-days it’s kind of scary if you think about things too much…….Hopefully it’s not as risky, as in other times……..

I seem to remember Wiley used the “too focused to notice ploy” the first time a few months ago.

It’s clear to me. Our neighborhood has just enough of these jokers to make night walks a real hazard without a flashlight.

Me? I’m still laughing at the little puffs of steam, (smoke?…Smell?) coming around the corner. It sparks the imagination…Classic Wiley touch…

My first impression was that Bob is walking Godzilla, but this is a little out there even for a strip called Non Sequitur.

Before electronic devices I used to walk everywhere with my nose in a book. Since I’m abnormally clumsy I’m amazed I didn’t hurt myself.
