Always the honest cop!

When we last left the brave crew of the StarShip Enterprise Captain Kirk was attempting to smooth things over with his on again, off again girlfriend Mad Mysta Mindy to no avail. Rather than reconciliation she threatened to destroy his ship unless he defeated the Moonies champion, Dick Tracy. .

“Jim, I don’t know how you manage to keep getting yourself in these jams!”“Bones, this is unbelievable! How can this be?”“I’m a doctor, not a cartoonist! I can’t make it go away with penicillin like I always do! "“Kirk, are you ready to do Battle with Dick Tracy? "“We’ve got to get Spock to do a mind meld with this Xerox copy!”“Is he still suffering from Vulcan Hornyness?”“It’s worse than you think. Right now he’s waiting at the Chapel hoping you’ll marry him and the Tribble!”

That shadow on Tracy´s face, seems like he is about to get in some ugly bussiness, like he said, could need to get his hands dirty, and doesn´t want his close friends to be part of it. For an ally that is not afraid to go around laws and ethics, Warbucks is just the guy.

Diet as in your doctor wants you to go on a diet and lose some weight to ease things for your heart.

Diet Smith has never been referred to as Dieter. A suspended Tracy might have a little extra room to maneuver. Good to see Warbucks again. Great middle panel with the rare brooding face of Tracy.

That’s just the standard page heading for all the Dick Tracy strips, no matter who the artists may be on an individual strip.

Worse than that, Tribune Content Agency still had a page about Jim Brozman until just a few months ago that automatically showed the most recent week of Dick Tracy strips as if they were examples of his work. There is no longer a page about Jim on the site.

In spite of Tracy’s aching honesty (panel 3), I expect Daddy Warbucks to follow through on his offer to Tracy: double his police salary. As Chief of Detectives in a big city, Tracy was probably making a good six-figure salary (plus benefits, bonuses, and lots of overtime), say maybe around base $125-150k/yr, if not more. Double that, and he’s really doing well (especially if we consider that Tess has an independent income from her detective agency). Plus, more importantly, Tracy will have at his disposal the resources of Warbucks Industries, most notably Punjab and the Asp, and without the complications of police legal fetters. This is a good deal!

I got the notice, too. I think it’s for real.

. I took a chance and signed up although I’m probably on the, “Snowballs chance in Hell” list! LOL! I was worried it was rightwingmoran hunting me down!

I got that notice too and I looked to see what it’s about. I thought they just had a questionnaire to fill out but they wanted to know when I’d be home and I decided that’s far enough. I don’t want to be bothered and I don’t trust those gift cards either. There’s always a catch. So I’m no longer interested.

I just got it and filled it out. I figure that if I am home when they call I’ll be glad to talk to them. If I am not…oh, well.

I didn’t get anything from GoComics, but it might be because I’m in Canada. If they are actually giving $50 to every user, it doesn’t seem possible. If it’s a draw for a $50 card, I can see it.
