Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
The characters in the speech balloon of the mouse are a slightly modified version of the MICR E-13B font which is found on bank cheques (or checks) in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other countries. Of course the real font has no letters, so the “B” is just made in a similar style to what you’d find on cheques. The is the full list of characters of the MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) font:
Adaptations of this font with all the letters of the alphabet have long been used to associate things with computers, but it has an even stronger association with banking, so it’s very appropriate for the mouse that’s helping to move the money.
I’m enjoying this. Matty’s learning about his new environment, something that’s bound to figure into the story later on. I mean, if Mr. Bribery gets Matty angry, couldn’t he have the mouse just return the money from Bribery’s account, and clean him out? Oh, the possibilities…
P.S. I’m actually enjoying this little aside. Matty and mouse are going to make Bribery a very wealthy man. Look forward to discovering Putty Puss’s fate and getting back to Notta, too
I like that in the cyber-sphere where Matty now exists, a mouse can move a ton of cash with a flick of its wrists. How to reward a rodent who will do just as it’s told? Could it be a tasty treat, a snack that some call mold? Do not get me started on the history of cheese. The Cyclops made his own, it’s said. His taste buds oh so pleased.
Well, well now! I peek back in from a several month’s sabbatical and see they’ve immortalized my favorite poster, Matty! If I go away again, I’m afraid I’ll come back and find Av in the DT Hall of Fame!
Apparently, the electronic visualized mouse says “Squeah!” (Thanks to Neil Wick for the converter link.) Despite the hijinks, the money is actually being hijacked, electronically, in real time (presumably).I like the idea of Dethany Dendrobia being called in to match wits with Matty Squared, though I’m not sure it will really happen, unfortunately. There are already a host of secondary or supporting characters in the cast for this arc, and Dethany might be an overload….
This seems a bit illogical. I’m sure banks have a lot of security systems to prevent anyone from stealing their deposits this way. I’m not saying it’s impossible just unlikely. If this could be done wouldn’t Bribery have done this before? He wouldn’t need an artificial person to move the money. He could just have Doc Glitch tap into the bank’s system. This must be for Bribery’s amusement purposes.

The mouse says… well, it’s more fun if you figure it out yourself… Here’s a Hex to ASCII text converter.

Sigh this story has been very painful to read the past few days. Good thing I have Matty’s changing shirt color to entertain me! LOL!

I love the mouse-wheel that the mouse moves around on and the wire that forms his tail. Sorry, avenger09, but for me, this is fun.
