WOW! Ever Creepy! He has human hands still! He is leaving the house , possibly so it won’t blow up Holly. Monsters Have Sentiments, they can love each other and feel bad when they hurt. Maybe argument about this, but I Prefer to think Lyn is being noble in his own way.

“O Lord, bless this thy Buddibomb, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.” And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats…

This is not the face of a man desperate to protect the woman he loves from harm. No, this is a man in 100% terror running away from explosives that for some reason insist on chasing the wrong person.

His back legs have toes. He would be an interesting character if he doesn’t become exploded. those BuddiBombs can sure be speedy. Hey Shon, you are right. so Holly must have been pretty lovable.Couples argue and even yell at each other while arguing. We haven’t seen her as she was when being happy, being , normal, before all this trauma, except for at the baby shower.

Indeed Lyn is being noble, for even though he’s become a monstrosity, he has enough wisdom to get away from the house so that the pursuing buddibombs don’t destroy it and Holly when they finally have attached themselves to him. Farewell, Lyn.

Neither Lyn nor Holly have any reason to know what’s going on. Lyn (as far as we’ve been shown) has no idea people are changing into monsters or anthros. Rumors are spreading, but that’s all. Lyn is in pain, but he can’t know what’s going on. He wouldn’t be thinking “I’m changing into a monster so I’ll run away to save the mutant mouse thing.”

Rick D we don’t know what Lyn knows. He’s working for Apex, but we don’t know in what capacity. He certainly knows there’s monsters and knows Apex doesn’t want him or Holly to talk about them. Lyn isn’t stupid, I’m sure he’s aware Apex has some information that the general public doesn’t have. His brain may now be in his tail, but it appears to be still working.

Part survival instinct, part love for his wife. He does seem to have a certain amount of awareness, which brings to my mind the question of how much their mental state influences their final look. For instance Lyn has a need to know what is going on so he turns into a creature with many eyes. Holly sees herself as a meek, submissive spouse so she turned into the mouse.

Can we assume that people will change once they have made contact or been in close proximity of someone who has already changed?

This may be an indication that Lyn was able to escape the bombs and survive to be the director of this play. We have seen at least one “monster” remember a human life (Sandy), so Lyn could have kept his wits about him and stayed low through the End. He could have been picked up later by the Fitzgerald and allowed to stay. He couldn’t go back to Holly the way he was, but maybe he could have kept tabs on her through Lucranean connections. The dittos could read his mind and give him a way to communicate despite his body’s restrictions.Maybe the Lucraneans ARE “monsters” that remained intelligent and maybe became more intelligent through their mutations. They could have formed a new society and are scavenging the old one. We haven’t seen a Lucranean yet that we know of, so we don’t know if they’re human or mutant or extradimensional or from the center of the Earth.

I don’t believe he is running to save Holly.Monsters kill. They are maniacs. I see him leaving to rampage the neighborhood as is the monster way. That human part of Lyn is probably so far gone its not even a small blip on the radar.I guess they will probably be shutting down this block of homes soon. That is why only air cars can get in. Isolation in case of infection. APEX was well prepared in case of outbreak. This is not even WWIII yet.

Look at panel 3, it’s from his perspective. Focus is failing ( brain is shutting down). In “normal” disease & injury processes the brain will shut down higher functions first ( thats why diabetic emergencies are sometimes mistaken for intoxication), in strokes and head injuries again you can lose higher functions as the brain pulls resources back to the stem to survive. His shout to Holly was probably his last functional thought as his brain began to restructure. When this fades- he’s gone.

Was thinking that, maybe, when he fell down the stairs, go knocked out for a few seconds, or at least senseless, and started mutating. Then woke back up in the midst of the change, making for a semi-lucid, slightly more human featured monster. Just a crazed bat’s two bits..

I suppose an important issue would be if Lyn is still Lyn even though he mutated into a monster.

    1) Great touch that the front legs are really arms and hands. 2) Mr. N really shows the pain and panic Lyn is going through. 3) Pink flamingo – whimsical “normality” in a crumbling world.
