Thanks to Pastis, we know now that if you cross a goat with a cinnamon roll, you get a SPLORT.

Flabby, orange-ish complexion, topped by something that looks vaguely like hair but actually isn’t… Hmm, he reminds me of somebody in the news, but the name of the person escapes me….

I think it’s safe to say that Goat is allergic to cinnamon rolls, you can’t get that big eating just one

This strip summarizes my life relationship with food and exercise. I wonder if an aging Stephan Pastis is starting to struggle a bit with his weight? I’ve never seen him tackle this topic before.

we are a nation of fatties. we love everything fried, processed, fatty. we add sugar to everything. we add salt to everything. we never exercise. our exercise is swiping left or pressing x on the controller. if we had a choice between veggie platter with no dip at a party, or slices of pizza, we would pick pizza. we waste so much food. if we tried to institute any legislation or tax to curb our insatiable, addictive appetite, we don’t. a ban on any soft drink larger than 64 oz, nope. a 10 cent tax to soft drinks, nope.

In junior high I had a friend who would eat an entire gallon bucket of ice cream and not gain a pound. In fact one summer he did so practically every day, he would go to the store buy one and eat it.

I would have a small amount and gain weight, later on at the local university they discovered I had the fat gene and did 10 years of studying me on it trying to turn it off.

My friend ate unhealthy his whole life and was always the perfect society standard looking. People thought he worked out and all, he was super lazy. I worked in the fields, moving pipe by hand, lifting bails of hay into the trailer. A lot of hard farm work and couldn’t lose a darn pound even though I ate fairly healthy.

My friend died a few years back because while he may have looked good, his cholesterol was sky high and virtually everything else was bad with him. I on the other hand have great health, great cholesterol, great everything and I still am overweight and people make fun of me for it.

Darn those genetics, that overrule hard work and a healthy diet.
