I am truly puzzled by this sitting by Barry to “show support” thing. What if the drunk driver was the parent of a kid the team actually liked, like Larry Arroyo who missed a game to take his mom to the doctor? Would the team have all skipped school to sit on a wooden bench next to Larry Arroyo at his father’s sentencing hearing?
The stage lights begin to dim, curtain ready to close. The longest production of Milford Masterpiece Theatre is nearing THE END. True will be so far behind in his 1st semester classes, he will redshirt at WF. O.K., some Milford Lake beach scenes to intro a new character or two, poolside shot of Mimi, abbreviated pre season practice and in 2 1/2 weeks, POOF!, bonfire pep rally evening before opening against Tod Andrews and the Oakwood Oafs.
Day 137: What is that light on the horizon? A ship? It looks like the end of this arc may be near. Probably some punch line like “You’re still a jerk, but you’re OUR jerk”.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest gets ready for its Sept. 1 opener vs. Tulane.Tomorrow (Wednesday), Wake Foret coach Dave Clawson will have his radio show debut from 7-8 p.m. (Eastern) It can be heard on BlueRidgeCountry98.com. It would be great if some Milford High fans submitted questions about True to Coach Clawson via email at WakeRadio@img.com or by tweeting the show @StanCottenWF
Elsewhere on the comics page today, we see that it was Coach Bull Bushka of that “other” Ohio high school football team who was driving the pickup truck that killed Boo Radley.
P-1: 1st Mudlark-Hey, this is like when I was a kid and actually went to church. KB- Quiet, I’m praying to get out of here.P-2: 1st Mudlark – Kenny, you’re morphing into Mongo from Blazing Saddles! KB- Ugh, Barry FRIEND.P-3: Are we going to let R&W force us to sit through this? Let’s lynch ’em. Anybody got any lynch?
Sooooooo, they all hate Bader so they don’t want to support him. But they like Tru(e) so they are going to sit next to him and Bader so that Tru(e) isn’t the only one sitting next to Bader. Yeah, okay. And speaking of okay, today’s Mopped Up Thorp isn’t a masterpiece, but it’s okay.
Having raised 4 kids and now being a grandparent to 5(all teens at this time) I have to say that this is what church goers think all teachers/coaches are like. Hint. Its not.and is Thorp the AD? Even in a really small school, no one coach coaches every sport. Granted they are all real teachers. My youngest daughters class size was 28-that was a very small school. My HS graduating class was 81 people.Again a very small school. But Gil Thorp is someones ideal of what they think really happens in HS. Its not now and never has been
Oh, Boy! They loved it for the end of the lame girl’s basketball season. R&W end the story with a ‘Flash Mob"!“Ya hit the Boo, Del so don’t ya come back no more, no more, no more,no more.Ya hit hit the Boo, Del so don’t ya come back no more."

In this case Barry would be justified in a “the heck with all of you.”

Gil tries to talk to Barry everyday. Why isn’t he sitting on the bench next to him?

Really, Big Ken Brown is making this happen?!? On the cow judge’s, er his mom’s home court?
P2, getting his nose into an argument with Big Ken Brown.
Are these guys all going to sit up there with Young Master Bader, even though he abandoned the team not once, not twice, but three times? C’mon man!

Will this story line end in time for there to be a Football season at Milford High?

Sometimes it’s okay to love the drunk, but hate the driver (or something like that).

Classy. And you that would be a good punch line, “but you’re our jerk!”
