You’ve a lot a to lean about Luann and her friends, Prudence.

Boy, this week is chock full of misunderstandings, miscues and misperceptions, between everyone! – Take today’s instance… Prudence’s confusing Gunther for a sewing machine. Duh! He’s a person ….hello!…. Oh, she’s so silly… (Cue “On The Ground” by “Lonely Island” of SNL fame…) -Wonder if Nancy’s belief that Luann would soon be experiencing the desire for “total recall” will color Luann’s initial reaction to the dress? – The lesson to be learned here, is… eat more fiber… and alphabet soup…

The difference is in the designers, Nancy.

Um, Lulu, Toni will be selecting the design for the bridesmaids dresses. Your new dress can be used for another occasion.I don’t remember the dress Nancy is remembering.I only remember the psychedelic dress from the fashion show.

Gunther should sew for Luann more often. Her current wardrobe is so Junior High. She needs to update her look and put her best assets forward.

The witch dress would make a statement, though.

I’m thinking that this emphasis on Luann’s dress at this point is simply a very small sub-plot to build up the suspense for the ultimate reveal of Toni’s dress (the winning design by a fan.)

Nancy has a look in her face like Gunther would have made her something appropriate for someone working at Hooters.

C’mon Luann put the good word in for Gunther to get invited to the wedding. But, even if he doesn’t get that invite. He can certainly get one for the reception afterwards!

I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that Gunther will sew Toni’s wedding dress as well.

pretty sure mom would approve of the modesty of the new dress if she had problems with the old one.

Art class project, I can see. But the Engineering criteria that Gunther stated was “An improved version of an everyday object”. I’m not sure how that dress would qualify.

Mom’s going to be so impressed with the new dress that she will insist on Gunther’s invitation.

Oh Great. Gunther went thru ALL Trouble to make THAT Dress, and Luann didn’t even bestow an ‘On Strip,’ Kiss or an insincere ‘Thank You.’

After All, She DID Allow Her Daughter to Walk around in Public Wearing THAT ‘Witch Dress’…..,

Why, Mother… surely you’re not suspecting that Gunther has some testosterone working in his system, are you?

Walk into any Party City between now and Halloween, or look up any adult female costumes online, including witch’s costumes. The outfit that Gunther made for Luann is actually modest (especially in terms of dress length) compared to just about anything else out there these days.

Okay here’s another thing. Prudence is from New York and specializes in stage managing. Is the opportunity at Cafe Kablooie really so compelling that an early 20s young woman, and a lesbian at that, would relocate semi-permanently to “Nowhere-Town, Flyoverstate, White-Bread USA” ?

I think the venue will catch on fire the morning of the wedding (faulty wiring or grease fire in the catering facility), Toni and Brad will be married in judge’s chambers, the reception will be at the warehouse, TJ will cater, all the firefighters will be (1) at the scene of the fire, or, (2) at the wedding in firefighter gear and they all fall asleep from exhaustion at the reception.

I think Nancy is confusing Luann with Tiffany

Nancy’s reaction is a weak punchline for today’s strip. There is no reason for Nancy to let her imagination run away with her as to what the bridesmaid dress may look like, because the dress is right there in the room with her, just under a garment cover. All she needs to do is ask Luann to show the dress to her and her fears will be allayed.

Wow, Gunther is fast!

Gunther and Bernice seem to be treated as if ‘an item’..Is their relationship to go undocumented.?

Tiff has had considerable relationship with Brad, including that big kiss, .So have several others. He worked at with the burger place Delta..Involved with Ox and Dirk, too. I’ll exclude Ann Eiffel. .Brad has grandparents on both sides and at least one aunt—all little seen recently..Will we end up with a wedding that is witnessed by only those sepia shadow silhouettes.?

When is Luann going to realise Gunther’s deep feelings for her?

Pru was the one who reminded Luann that it is the bride who should stand out. Hopefully, she will remind Luann again, i.e. that Toni and her dress are to be considered.

Suddenly Pru realizes that the woman for her may be Gunther.

With her work in theatre and appreciation for theatre costume shops, it’s no wonder Pru recognizes Gunther as “a sewing machine.” He does have a real talent in that line. Maybe he and Pru should spend more time together (not romantically, of course), sharing interests….

I guess the witch’s costume was before my time, or it flew so far beneath the radar, that I never noticed it. What I have noticed is Greg’s drawing of hair. Does anyone in this strip have good hair? Best I saw was Tiffany’s when she got out of the shower.
