Girl: Breakfast is important. And I have trouble getting out of the house on time. And the school has plenty of outlets.
Mr. Spaetzle: And pop-tarts taste fine cold.
Girl: I still say I should be able to bring a toaster to school.
Ask Frazz to keep a toaster in the Janitor’s Room. He’s allowed, and he would doubtless oblige unless too many kids asked. But the “food” of which you speak barely qualifies. It’s a sugar bomb.
Not sure if I would call it mocking or condescension, but The Principal seems to be rolling his eyes at the pop tart idea. A number of things she can do…1, make a breakfast sandwich the night before and put it in the fridge, 2, set her alarm earlier, 3, buy breakfast bars instead of pop tarts.
I ate a moderate amount of Pop Tarts as a kid, but they were never a “must have” item. These days, I have one perhaps once a year… usually when they make some new, odd flavor, and curiosity gets the best of me. To me, they are still just “ok” tasting…. and not worth the high fat content, for me.As always, I really enjoy seeing Principal Spaetzel! He is, in many ways, my very favorite character in Frazz.
I’ve eaten a few Pop-Tarts, and prefer the unfrosted fruit ones, way too much sugar with frosting added. They don’t taste very good cold. However, after I read the calorie count, decided it was a treat I could live without.
I like the pizza flavored Pop-Tart idea. Hate cold pizza, but even a cheese pizza tart that could be quickly toasted sounds good for a quick meal.
By the way, I was able to promote several layers of the employment ladder, all the way to new hires trainer/ and Maintenance Manager, that was in way the fruits of a carrer well planed and executed, temptation abounds to scramble rules and hope nobody is watching, but there is always the miss step and your life changes for the bad in a split second, I am glad I chose to do the right thing and followed the rules

they are barely acceptable when heated, not even close to fine when cold. Pizza they are not.

Just don’t eat your Pop Tart into a vaguely gun-shaped object!

I wouldn’t want to heat pizza in a toaster.

Had a Pop Tart when the first came on the market. Big, big disappointment. That was my first and last.

I think Pop Tarts are an acquired taste, one I never really acquired. My sisters could have lived on them when we were kids.

I’m reminded of the Ships Coffee Houses in Los Angeles, where every table had its own toaster.

I was a kid when they were first introduced. No frosting back then, but we would butter the tops . . . mmmmm.

I too was in the target market age when they first came out. Even then it was just “meh” soon after the honeymoon of newness wore off.

You’re not even allowed to have a toaster in your dorm room!
