I can hear the ZZzzzzzzzzzzzz’s comin’ over the hill ! ...Got this from a friend and passing it along as asked:http://stopinternetgiveaway.org/It’s a letter to elected officials …….Please don’t hurt me !
Too much “padding”, as my New Yorker friend says, and further translated as “BS” by my under-the-bridge bro, SDM. I’m convinced Mike & Joe have a friend they immortalized with his likeness in ink and inserted it into the story, albeit completely irrelevant. And their friend has a basset…… ZZZZZzzzz.
… there was a comic book publisher – might have been Fox – that established a rigid format where there would be an explosion at regular intervals …
I used to run video stores, as I’ve mentioned before, and I’ve never been a really big fan of “action” movies (as you might have guessed). I used to call them “everything explodes all the time” movies. There have been almost (but not quite) too many explosions for my liking in this strip over the last couple of years.
Actually, Basset Hounds don’t have a lot of the built-in health issues other breeds do (like bulldogs for one). They’re very active like the other hound breeds, and very, very adorable. Well, except when they howl which sounds like a ship’s foghorn. Very much on the bass end of the doggie choir.
A fan heaps voluminous praise,And finally, for those who wrote the book on boring, my pals Gweedo and VB;-And if that weren’t enough,Listing to your radio station always leads me to get a case of the ZZZZzzzzzz…..
I had to turn my computer off for it to rest so that was why I was missing. I don’t find it boring because it is part of the tapestry lead in to the story. You never know what we see might be important later. Look up “Checkoff’s Gun” in Tropes.
Okay; have we got the establishing shot done now?(Maybe Flintheart does have more money than I had expected; wise investments can grow significantly over the years. Maybe Selfy should touch him up….)

I don’t think we’ve ever heard Mr. Grounds’ surname before.

I’ve reached the point when I have to wonder if this fits into the story, or if it’s just some more padding, like the Holmes obsessed doctor.

For some reason that last panel makes me think of Ghost in the Shell

It looks like the colorist thought the dog is a bloodhound. The drawing does look more like a bloodhound that a basset hound.

Yes. Before I read the text, I also thought it was supposed to be a bloodhound.

Nice, Avenger! I like how you broke up the parts of your poem.

I think it would have been nice if Coffee had named his Basset Hound after a certain famous TV Basset.
