“And he wore the same shirt for 12 years…”

    .

And, even better if he can keep the same wife for at least 50 years.

IMO the idea and the sum of the interactions that have been detailed for what maybe 8 or 9 years (?) between Toni and Brad (historians feel free to correct me on the Luannverse time) is that Toni came out of her abused shell, and become a strong person, a firefighter no less, and Brad became a man, and also a firefighter. Most of his change came because of her, much of her change came because of him. Relationships can change people for the better. I think that is one of underlying themes of their relationship as portrayed in the strip.

I’d really like to see people realizing that TJ has found his place in the Luanniverse. Sure, he started out as just a schemer, but now he uses his scheming powers for good, to help others.

Fell asleep eating Oreos? Big deal. I fell asleep eating a ham sandwich. I woke up and nearly had a heart attack, seeing the half eaten sandwich on my chest and thinking it was some creature attacking me. Of course, the many Jack and Cokes I imbibed the night before didn’t help…

Wonder if one of the reasons why Brad opted to do the wedding planning – for storyline purposes – is so that Luann can be more involved.

Some casual acquaintances of mine were planning a Zero-G Wedding aboard the “Vomit Comet” – There are apparently dresses designed specifically for that.

    .

Don’t know if they ever actually went through with it.

At least one of those children is approaching adulthood. Luann on the other hand is such a mess that its actually hard to read the strip.

Then he should have made the comment to Mikey, not me. For a professor, I would have to give him a low grade on reading comprehension.

Heh-heh, I’ve made that mistake myself once or twice…

Don’t worry, at some point in the marriage, after things have really settled in to a comfortable routine, those habits could return. Probably on the couch, watching sports, while Toni does the laundry.

    Say Frank?

THIS May be a Really BAD time to Bring This Up, but have You Had that “little talk” with Brad, Yet? You Know, that Conflab about what the Husband is Supposed to Expect during the Wedding Night, and beyond. Well, Tommorrow would be a Good Time.Oh, and I’d SKIP the Part about the much later ‘Menopause Thing’ if I were You. We DON’T want to SCARE Bradley Off…..,

    .

    Funny and cute today.

    .

Frank’s comment today about the 12 years of the “17” shirt strikes me as a bit odd. I guess it really is Greg “breaking the fourth wall” and his poking fun at himself to a degree, so that is very well done.

    .

But, looking at it from a “real” way, it is kind of strange for Frank to say, since in a “real” way, Brad could not have worn that shirt (everyday) for 12 years. So, I will just keep looking at it as Greg breaking the fourth wall.

I believe that Beetle Bailey has been wearing the same uniform since the Korean War…65 years. Never left Camp Swampy, and never even got one stripe. But, I liked today’s Luann strip, it lightened up and had a tad of refreshing humor to it. Is it so weird to want something nice for characters in a comic strip?

I like the way Frank and Nancy are laughing at Brad until they weep. “HAW HAW HAW!!! Boy, our kids are really a couple of total losers and idiots! HAW HAW HAW!!! Gee, I wonder where they get it from? Not from us, that’s for sure! HAW HAW HAW!!!”

My prediction of a near-fatal injury prior to the wedding looks like it will not occur— at least not to toni. Her role now appears to be as the model to that wedding dress, and going down the aisle either in a wheelchair or on a stretcher would not display is appropriately.*Everyone—- remember to vote!

Don’t forget to votes for your favorite dress!! Here’s the update:

458 — is still in the lead with 1623 votes. This dress was featured in an article in the San Diego Union Tribune today!

    ..

232 — this lovely dress is still in second place with 1474 votes.

    ..

493 — is still in third place with 1266 votes. I imagine this dress in white satin with the lace in white too. It would also be pretty if the lace were say a pale pink or cream color. However, maybe white is the way to go. This dress reminds me of my favorite scene from the last Bond movie, where she is walking down the train aisle in that sumptuous satin dress looking ravishing and Bond’s eyes are about popping out of his head. So funny! She says to him, “You shouldn’t stare like that,” and he says “Well, you shouldn’t look like that!”

He’s doing all the planning because Toni is too emotionally frail to handle it. She like the anti-girl in her desire to have nothing to do with the wedding.
