Rainy days can be fun. Just watch out for pneumonia.

I wish it would rain here. Even when the weather service says it’s going to rain here, it doesn’t. This is a very small country with only one weather service, but if you watch the 5 TV channels you get 5 totally different weather reports for the same area some days…I guess people pick the one they want.

I miss rain.

Of course, Linus can just say, “Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day.” That is, until he botches it up by saying, “Go go today. Rain some way again some day!” Anyone remember that story arc?

Please listen to your brother Linus Lucy. He’s an honest young man and good brother.

Because you always want to do something, Lucy. So, when it rains, it always comes at time when you want to do something.

Interesting to compare young Lucy in the earlier reprints with the Alice-in-Wonderland-Duchess face she’s wearing by this time.

I went out and got a bunch of leaves to the curb yesterday, despite the desultory raindrops. Rain didn’t keep me from something I didn’t want to do.

When I worked retail I looked forward to occasionally having it rain on my days off. I loved to sit on the couch, music playing, cup of tea, cats on my legs, reading a good book. My idea of heaven.

I’m the opposite, why does the rain stop soon as I go out into it?

I’m cursed by a ray of sunshine no matter where I go.

Why are the keys always in the last place you look?

And as she pouted on, the rainclouds dragged down the sky after her, for, though she did not know it, Lucy was a Rain God. All she knew was that her play days were miserable and she had a succession of lousy holidays. All the clouds knew was that they loved her and wanted to be near her, to cherish her, and to water her.

There are always opposites…Lucy will always be Lucy’s grumbly self and Linus will always be optimistic> If it were not so they would all dissolve into the mediocrity of comics of the past…..
