It’s one thing for Rick Scott to tell Gil about Pete’s injury and the effect it will have on the season, but it’s a bit out of line to tie in his opinion of Gil’s backside.
I don’t see the connection yet. How does an injured tight end get a guy a shot at being quarterback? Seems to me the position that is now critical would be the tight end position.
I don’t know if anyone here ever had a broken collarbone, but that’s not an injury you can hide. Ask Tony Romo.
5th string? How many kids are on this team anyway? Most colleges don’t go that deep and if I was a 5th string college QB, I’d certainly transfer. I wonder if Tru(e) ended up 5th string after not showing up until the 2nd game at Wake. And for what, pitching 2 innings for a losing baseball team?
“I gotta watch film with the QBs. Some stuff Gil said he had of being brutally honest with Heather, and her breaking down. I told him I wasn’t watching any of that shower stuff.”
Moose is a man whore, craving attention by advertising his itinerary to the lunch room crowd. Bet GilPa does not have 5 tight ends. THAT would be a helluva circus show.
Unless you’re the Bears, there’s no need to carry five quarterbacks. Was it the weather or was the game called as nobody could play without gagging after someone broke De Windt?
Wait a minute. Gil was serious when he said Pelwicki was the fifth-string QB? Or Pelwicki thought he was serious? Is there any real, existing team in the universe with a fifth-string QB?
@kdizzle: Home Run on your first at bat, today. So R&W threw a misdirection play at us. Moose shows up for film study and State Champion Coach Thorp asks him to play TE. We make a lot of inappropriate comments and Moose turns into an all star after Heather coaches him on how to run routes and we have fun talking about him having “good hands”.
P-1: Wow, what an injury Pete has a broken Collar Bone in his tight end?P-2: This week we’re learning montage by watching Fritz Lang’s Potemkin (how’s that for obscure E?)P-3: Because it’s easy to spell.
I assume Moose isn’t really the 5th string tight end, Gil was just humoring him and being facetious. Probably 3 would be the max for a high school team. And speaking of max, you can max out your enjoyment by reading today’s Mopped Up Thorp.
My guess is that this injury will not get Moose closer to playing QB in a game unless Gil moves the backup QB to tight end. More likely Moose gets moved there? (Like Pogoreader suggested.) Although at some point Moose will get at least one pass attempt in a game. Tight end option pass? (Is that a thing?)
@miffedmax: Ah, Eisenstein. Isn’t it all relative? It’s been over 40 years since my film appreciation class. I can hardly remember if I shut the garage when I leave. At least I remember the old battleship and the baby buggy going down the stairs scene. I got my spelling from an online dictionary.

“Because Tru played QB and got a free ride to Wake Forest. If I play I expect a free ride to, like, Harvard or, like, you know,Yale.”

In all reality , P 3 a giant claw is reaching up to grab whoever is sitting next to Dory. Moose Pelwickie will be moving up the QB depth chart.

I just hope the girls soccer team hasn’t lost any more midfielders.

Gil better hope nothing happens to the wide receivers De Earth and De Fire.

It’s nice of the trainer to remind Gil what position De Windt plays. He probably figures he’s ahead of the game if Gil even knows who De Windt is.

When Joe Montana was first at ND, he was even lower than 5th, behind that stud, Rusty Lisch…

Why is Captain Picard telling Gil his tight end is done for the season? Wait…. he’s talking about Pete DeWindt………..Ahhhhh.

Ptotemkin was by Eisenstein, not Lang. (Pedantic fit for the day concluded.)

DeWindt was number 4, you were number 5. DeWindt just turned in his wings, so now you’re number 4.
I guess we’re going to watch the quarterbacks drop one by one until the last game of the season when Pelwecki becomes starting QB

@Jerry Pulver….. this receiver out for the year with a broken collar bone is a little too close to home isn’t it?
