That answers yesterday’s questions about a Jewish prayer of healing.

What is called “chemo therapy” is essentially a toxic soup to see if the immortal cells (cancer) will die first over the normal mortal ones. Can’t wait for targeted therapy. where the organisms put in will only seek out and destroy any cancer cell in the body.

NOTHING Fails like prayer … lets see if that holds true in the comics as well…

Thanks to all yesterday who responded to my question about healing prayer. Yes, I was actually asking it in a serious tone for information, not in any way demeaning or negative.

My (limited) understanding of the Jewish faith is that there may be differences in positions, depending on the sect. Kind of like denominational differences in the Christian traditions. Some believe healings are for today, others, that the miracles ended with the Apostles.

Having been a party and witness to undeniably miraculous healings, you can guess which category I fit into.

“NOTHING Fails like prayer …”-Oh boy, there’s going to be a lot of backlash today about this. So I’m just going to stay out of it and see what happens.

At it’s most basic, prayer helps by giving you a positive focus, and let’s you feel you are doing something to help, instead of being helpless.

Maybe Sail and Ghote will splice Margie’s dna with what’s left of Moon Maid’s and turn her into a Lunarian… naaaah, THAT’S just TOO FAR FETCHED!!

depending on what stage they caught it in, she has a chance.. but my friend’s sister died from her breast cancer even after the mastectomy and chemo, and she was told that “by the time you find a lump, its already too late” (ironically, HER name was Margie as well..she died two years ago on November 2nd at only 53 years of age.. two years to the day of her other brother passing away too)

It’s nice to know that spirituality is still an aspect that is being portrayed in the strip. With the crisis that Sam is dealing with concerning Margie, he needs something to help him cope. I don’t know if anyone has read earlier strips, but during the time that Chester Gould wrote and drew the strip, the elements of prayer and faith was present.

Good catch! I had one, but no PEB and a tape player that wasn’t worth the magnetic particles it (tried) to write on. I finally broke down and got a loan to go whole-hog for an Apple //e when I went to college. The TI was actually quite powerful for it’s day. I still have fond memories of it.

Sam, if she has to have s mastectomy, she needs to get in touch with the non-profit org called “Knitted Knockers” at knitted knockers.org. They make these to your specs for free. They are incredibly natural looking under your clothes, MUCH lighter than the silicone prosthesis and they do not make you sweat. Best of all they will not hurt scar tissue.

I applaud Mike and Joe for not riding the PC wave and for bring God and prayer in today’s strip.

God always answers prayer…….Although often the answer is : “No.” I applaud Team Tracy for respecting the spiritual part of people’s lives.

I do, too. And not translating the prayer is wonderful.

Belief in prayer helps people psychologically. If the person dies they said “God took them” if they live they say “God saved them” and that overs 100%. It isn’t science, but it is human, all too human.

Oh please, “PC” has nothing to do with it. What exactly does “PC” mean to you since you and others use it as a scapegoat for anything that displeases you. Unless you don’t like separation of Church and State which is Constitutional. I know those exact words were not used, but the meaning is the same. Nothing is stopping anyone from using them. Just not in public schools by school personnel is all. I‘ve got no problem with anyone using it as long it isn’t paid for by my and your tax dollars. Simple as that.

Prayer doesn’t work? I’m living proof it does……my mother prayed that I’d grow up to be the best-looking guy on the planet……

I never knew that Sam and his wife are Jewish. How about that, sports fans.

I feel sure we’d all (except for the rabid atheists) pray for Margie, Sam and Rabbi Marmelstein. I hope she makes it. An untimely death in the MCU family would be a real downer at this season….
