Audiences packed Detroit’s Grande (pronounced Grand-E) Ballroom in the late 60s/early 70s to see the likes of Led Zeppelin, Cream, The Who, Pink Floyd… with house bands the Stooges and MC5. Unfortunately the D’s Grande has been closed for 40+ years. Glad to see they still kick out the jams in Neal’s Milford!
Nice shine on that floor in P1 Mop Man. Looks ready to go for Friday.
What’s wrong with the Milford kids these days. Nobody goes to The Bucket anymore? Maybe they should spring for some free Wi-fi so the kids can tap some keys.
Sadly, the ants have now invaded the Sacred Shower in P2. Better call The Orkan Man.
Since the rave isn’t until after the game I guess A Quad will be a star Friday. Unless he takes the molly before the game so he can be ready for the rave.
I saw Humble Pie open for Grand Funk way back in the 1970s. My friends were all there to see Grand Funk, but by the time Humble Pie was done, I didn’t care about Grand Funk at ALL. Steve Marriott was amazing.
@Mr. Reality: The Grande was a $5 cover as well. When the Who no showed (as usual) I stood ten feet from the stage when a new group appeared just before their first album release, Chicago Transit Authority. The second act was Country Joe and the Fish.
Okay, here’s my prediction for this story. So Aaaaron is traveling back and forth to Central City where he’ll run into some hooligans who will flatten his tires. While there he’ll get hooked on placebos that he thinks will improve his basketball game. Someone asks him about the origin of his name and he gets pissed. On the way back his mom calls and asks him to stop for some milk, but he gets in an accident when he runs over a peacock. He quickly gets a tattoo to commemorate the event, that he slaps before the start of each game.
And speaking of rambling, you should ramble over to https://moppedupthorp.wordpress.com/ to read today’s Mopped Up Thorp.

The AllMusic.com entry on Kill the Noise: This project from Ewun mastermind Jake Stanczak covers the EDM spectrum from electro house to dubstep.

Showing my age here, but I’m guessing EDM is electronic dance music.

I don’t know why @cuttersjock gets all excited about these shower scenes, pretty boring really.

I wonder what bigger act is playing at the Venti Ballroom? Maybe it’s Christmas Blend.

If Quad A is going to the Grande, maybe Milford has once more magically relocated. This time to southern Michigan. Maybe Gil Thorp is a QM Production.

Wait, I know! Perhaps there’s a correlation between Aaaron’s attendance at all-night shows and his next-day sluggishness!

Since Kaz knocked off practice 5 minutes early for the Gents, someone in the background is taking advantage of bonus time in P2.
