At a Second City revue I attended, one of the sketches included a couple at a restaurant where the man ordered “Ripple.” The waiter deadpanned, “What year?” Someone seated near us was heard to say “He should have asked ‘What month?’” And the waiter made the proper show of twisting the cap off the pantomime bottle.

I never heard of this game, but I think I’m lucky I haven’t.

Okay, so now I know what the game is, but I still don’t see how it works as a punchline.

So I’ve got to think A&J make good money, so WHY would you even HAVE house Plonk?? I’m not into wine, but if I’m buying its only the good stuff. Life is to short to drink junk.
