These are similar to some campaign promises Trump made. His supporters figured surely he didn’t really mean them.

So far no executions by pushing out of aircraft at 30,000’. Count it as a win.

RETHUGS/TBAGGERS in congress are busy trying to handle dRUMPf’s shenanigans. and i for one am fine with that. imagine ALL the damage to the country they could have done if they actually got a competent RETHUG in the white house.

I’m not sure if this is funny as satire, or REALLY,REALLY SCARY as being WAY too close to reality!

Interesting that Trudeau draws a complete Trump instead of some floating symbol like he has with every other president. Maybe because “cartoon” is the best description of the current president?

@joblow101010 With previous Presidents, it sometimes took GT a while to come up with the right symbol. Patience, Padawan.

@Coyoty +1 for Firefly reference. Quality over quantity. (Though some more quantity would surely have been nice.)

Trudeau has been drawing Drumpf for YEARS, as far back as when Duke was hired as the captain of the “Trump Princess”, and J.J. was hired to paint the bathrooms on the yacht like the Sistine Chapel with Drumpf as God. No point in coming up with an icon for Drumpf now, since he IS a Cartoon Character at best!

Regarding how Trudeau has depicted US Presidents, RPMURRAY said:

Every other president except Obama. He never did come up with anything for him. It was like he was the invisible president, sort of like his legacy.

    -

More Germans turned out last week to see an invisible former POTUS than Americans turned out for the inauguration of the current one. This caused the Orange Blob to throw a hissy fit. He called the Germans evil and threatened to cut off German car sales in the US.

Apparently the great deal maker doesn’t know that most of those German cars are made in places like South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, and Indiana.

First “president” not depicted by an icon (that I can recall). I wonder if there’s a significance to that. ;-)

The U.S. on and off moves more and more into having an Imperial Presidency, with the Executive Branch appropriating powers granted by the Constitution to the Legislative and Judicial Branches. Right now i think that the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT thing that the Congress could do is to reclaim its full share of the powers allotted to it by the Constitution. There was a correction in that direction after Nixon, but the current increases in Imperial Presidency behaviors have been building for around three and a half decades now, so it is well past time for Congress to impose corrections. Having a POTUS who does not even begin to understand the division of powers, the importance of Fourth Estate, or the Constitution is dangerously speeding up the imbalance. No one can do this for Congress. It needs to put aside the less important things and tend to this.

Along the same lines people need to realize that Meuller is a SPECIAL Prosecutor, NOT an Independent Prosecutor, so he was appointed by and HAS to report to the Executive Branch’s Justice Dept. The Justice Dept is not part of the Judicial Branch, but was begun by Grant. Despite his history being a good one that places limitations upon him, as might a little known Executive Order signed by Trump early on. That EO extends to 2 years the time frame in which a Special Prosecutor is not supposed to investigate anyone who employed the firm he worked for. Both Kushner and Manafort employed Meuller’s firm but not Meuller within those two years. That could get a Judicial waiver since he was not employed himself but is likely to be a tactic used.

@SukieCrandall Absolutely, Congress has steadily abdicated many of its Constitutional powers to the President, but it began at least as far back as the Korean War (or maybe Laos) in the 50’s or 60’s. Among the many other things, Congress hasn’t declared war since WWII (maybe a good thing to think about on Memorial Day).

Not that I’m opposed to the idea of not having wars, but obviously, we’ve had wars that Congress simply didn’t bother to declare. It’s really shameful. But politicians have no shame.

There hasn’t been a war or “police action” that really defended us since the end or World War 2 in 1945.

“Defensive” isn’t in the Constitution. To be fair, I don’t suppose Jefferson imagined we’d be engaged in wars or “police actions” in such fr-flung places, but there’s no limitation on the type of war that only Congress has the power to declare. Truman, Kennedy, Nixon, Bush, and Obama (not entirely sure about the last) started operations that should have been declared as wars by Congress, and weren’t. (I know my list isn’t perfect, but I hope you’ll grant it’s pretty close.)

Obstruction of Justice is an impeachable offense as outlined by the Constitution. If the Republicans do not impeach Trump for firing Comey then they are guilty of dereliction of duty.
