Apropos of my comments today at “Baldo”, Brewster Rockit is one of the funniest new comics in years. I’m always sure of a laugh (a cure) or at least a smile (preventive medicine) a day.
(As for the American healthcare system, there’s nothing wrong with it that getting the government out of it won’t fix.)
Actually, Corzak, I AM retired and using Medicare since I deserve it more than the people who believe in it. At least I admit I have no right to it.
(To those of you paying taxes for it, if you believe in it you deserve to have your money taken away and given to me. If you don’t believe in it, my apologies, but I’m not the one taking it.)
It never fails. Every time I hear a right-wing / tea party fan whining about “big government socialism” and “big government deficits” and “taxes” … it turns out they or their spouse or their kids are receiving “big government socialist” checks - from the DOD, or the VA, or Medicare, or a city/county/state pension, or unemployment, or their kids are in a public school … etc etc.
Welcome to Obama Care. Oh, and Corzak, My family recieved a big Gov’t check from the Gov’t. Seems my Dad was involved in this little fracas called WORLD WAR 2, you may have heard of it. And I myself recieve a Gov’t check. Of course it goes with being USNR. We Conservitives don’t object to taxes per se but how they are spent, and can the private sector do the job better. Military, Police, Fire Depts, all these fall under the Gov’ts perview. Health care does not.
The conservative agenda objecting to how taxes are spend and having the private sector do better is great, but fundamentally flawed by the assumption that people in the private sector are some how better or better qualified than those in the government - having seen both sides, I can reliably report that the problems are not going away as long as we have to rely on people…

that is till BillWa needs health care. Then he’ll be the first demanding why the VA is late with his coverage.
I pay taxes. I get ZERO money from the government. If I get to “object .. how taxes are paid” then I would say I don’t want my taxes going to some USNR guy who doesn’t feel like working full time like I do.
