Easier to get another envelope and another stamp. Just make sure your account number is written on the cheque in the bottom left-hand corner. I know of what I speak.
Been there and have done that back in the days when I paid bills by check and snail mail.
I whole-heartedly embraced online banking and bill paying when it came in. Now, almost all my transaction are done via internet EXCEPT ( ironically ) here in Ecuador, where I pay my utilities, phone, and cable bills, in person and with cash !
I started using auto-pay when it first arrived, and write very few checks today, maybe 4 a year. Even my apartment rent, which didn’t offer anything but payment by check when we moved in, is now on auto-pay. My bank just reduced the size of a standard check order. It used to be 200 checks, now down to 100, in several steps over recent years. I have a checking account at a credit union, for which I have never had checks.

The great thing about rural mail service, you can just go back out to the box and get it.
