Right now, it a wonderful 61° in Chicago. While there will be a couple of mid to high 80s in a couple of days, good riddance to hot weather!

Leaf-changing time? Wonderful weather in Michigan too, sunny and in the upper 60s. Heaven!

San Francisco hit a record 106F today. The smokey skies from several forest fires in Northern California is a great contributor to that heat. It’s been mild up until now.

In Houston it is back into the muggy 90’s. But a cold front will cool it down to the 80’s.

58* right now in Southern Kentucky.

90 degrees here in Shenzhen, China. Overcast & humid.

45 Degrees in northern Maine. Heats on and it’s jacket wearing time during my morning walks. No snow yet anyway.

57 F and raining here in Maryland. I think this has been one of our cooler summers. We have had some hot days but only a few at 100 or above. Does make me wonder what winter will be like.

San Fernando Valley in So. CAL. My outside thermometer read 116 yesterday. Too hot even for me.

Bend, OR, usually a pleasant city, has been choked with smoke from wildfires in the area. I’ll be glad to see the end of this summer.

Fort McMurray wildfire has FINALLY been declared extinguished after more than a year.

It’s still winter here in Machala, Ecuador. That means partly sunny skies and 77 degrees.

Wiley’s cartoon reminds me of when I was a kid and those long, hot, miserable, bumper-to-bumper car rides back from the beach. No air-conditioning in our car in those days and what should have been an hour scenic drive ( no expressways to the beach in those days ) dragged on for 3 hours or more.

There must be a special place in heaven for my poor father, because he sure went through his hell on earth, uncomplainingly chauffeuring a backseat driving wife and a couple of cranky kids back from the seashore.

I cannot WAIT for summer to be over. Can’t take much more of the unbearable heat!

Sometimes I feel like the only person who abhors summer. I get super grouchy and depressed, and the onset of September is the only cure.

So hot that the statue of liberty was asked to lower her right arm.

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” But first, give them a shower.
