I commuted 30 miles a day, round trip, by bike, through light snow, freezing rain and zero degrees Farenheit. But I’m sure there are others who rode further.
I vaguely remember a science-fiction short story some decades back about a guy regaling a bar with a series of stories about how every new car he got would have some kind of real-world effect based on its name, then mentioned that his latest was a Chevy Nova, when someone near the window said “That’s funny, it’s nearly midnight, and it looks like the sun’s coming up out there.”

Then he got into an Infiniti and hasn’t stopped since.

Had a VW Quantum at one time. They were not very common around here – the guy who fixed it had to take a course in Quantum Mechanics.

Very good! I have to read these slowly to get the full effect and all the references. Love it!
