I’ve always thought we have our meals backwards. Breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day since the body has been fasting for approximately 12 hours and needs energy to sustain itself for the rigors of the day. Lunch should be the next biggest meal since the body requires more energy during the day and needs a top off. Supper therefore should be the smallest meal since the body will be at rest for the better part of the remainder of the day and night and doesn’t need a lot of energy to sustain itself.
Susan, though I might say something like that, I don’t recall saying ‘you can never have enough beer,’ lately. It also likely that Plods might have said something like that.
I’m not big on pancakes but my kids and I have had breakfast for dinner. It’s a nice change. And I agree with Susan you need a balanced meal. This morning I just finished cereal, still working on my coffee. I’ll have some fruit a little later.
I’ve always like cold pizza and pepsi for breakfast… and as johnsullivan1 already mentioned, midnight chow in the military is mostly breakfast and that was great stuff after finishing a swing shift.
Who says you gotta eat certain things at certain times? …eat what you want, when you want it, and ain’t no one else who has a say in the matter. (poor grammar free of charge 8^)
In the winter and spring (before the garden comes in and I have home grown tomatoes), I have breakfast for supper at least once a week. Pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, fried egg sandwich, omelette, all with bacon or sausage.

Nothing wrong with pancakes for dinner… I like it.
but you need some protein and some fruit and/or veg with them..,
so have some eggs and half a cantaloupe, or some meat and a salad.
Then again, Tony’s question is “What’s for breakfast?”
If you’re having pancakes for dinner, why not have dinner food for breakfast?
No reason you can’t have that beef and broccoli stir-fry in the morning.
Well, you can.
I’m not a morning eater, except maybe fruit and a little cereal.
COFFEE. That’s what’s for breakfast.
PS .. Grog… apologies.
I didn’t really mean it when I said “that’s enough beer.”
I was just trying to get Tigressy to check in.
Oh… and apologies to CuzinRon, too….
So sorry to leave all that labor to you.

I like a bowl of cereal with fruit for dinner. Better than a heavy meal.

Never pancakes any time of day, but I am a great admirer of bacon (or sausages) and eggs any time of day.

Breakfast for dinner is great, for a change of pace. And MY pancakes are worth it.

Where’s the rule book?? What’s wrong with pancakes for dinner….or lunch for that matter. I’m with Susan – as long as you are eating healthy.

I was in college before I ever ate pancakes for any meal but dinner.
What’s for breakfast? It’s Sunday, so grits with cheese & bacon. Just finished them on Cul De Sac.

It’s not ‘dinner’, it’s supper. Dinner is a large meal eaten midday as the main meal of the day. Like Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Dinner.

Once when my mom was off on an all-day conference my dad took care of my brother and me. We had pancakes for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner!

Shove Tuesday traditionally has pancakes for dinner. It is the day before Ash Wednesday.
