Dottie looks like she is looking in Waltâs direction and is maybe a little ⊠ashamed? sorry? (panel 3) and Walt looks like he is disappointed with Dottieâs testimony/choice of words (panel 4).
Waltâs watching Dottieâs transformation from being a news-reporter to propagandist, and heâs not liking what he sees. The swinish (in more ways than physically being a pig) prosecutor has already taken the route from being impartial to being partial & not hesitant in advocating [her viewpoint] under the guise of legal arguments.
Current application. I see dehumanizing language every time I have to deal with political opinions. What political orientation did the woman who posted she had no sympathy with the victims of this recent shooting because of how she thought they voted?
Wait⊠I went back and checked (February 8, 2107; Panel Three). Heather actually said it to the Chief of Police. If Dottie hadnât told her to âcalm downâ, Heather wouldnât have spoken to her, let alone argued with her.
Thank you, Dragoncat. Yes, Heather did say those words, and Dottie the reporter wrote them down and quoted her. By the way, is Walter in the audience or in the jury?
The Mariachi band just drove up in the back. They asked when is this going to adjourn for the nightâŠâŠ..they would like to get some sound check time. I wonder if the prosecutor lady one time worked with Allgood??
People are really lining up to insult Dottie as being the scum of the earth for her role in this, but I think theyâre forgetting her previous major role â which was being the sole voice of reason in regards to Al and Gustineâs trial. Dottie was 100% right there, because her motive was always truth and decency rather than bigotry (Jackrabbit despises humans and mutants who love them).
Dottieâs already shown she has some doubts and fears about the way things are going with the wolves, but her motive remains the same as it was with Al and Gustine â the truth. And the truth has been told by Doc Chase himself â the wolves, if theyâre involved with the cannibalism at all, are not the sole culprits, and donât deserve the prejudice and mistrust theyâre getting. From Dottieâs perspective, Heather had a meltdown screaming about how wolves had killed her friend, started a fight with a wolf that led to another woman being hospitalized, turned a peaceful protest into a bloodbath, and then murdered a wolf in cold blood â all based on lies and presumptions. She has every right saying what she said here. Her issue is that in fixating on the wolves innocence sheâs ignoring the bigger picture and the other people who are being hurt, hereâs hoping she starts focusing on more of the truth from here on.
Might want to tread lightly here. If memory serves, the last guy we saw go on about âdehumanizingâ mutants in a courtroom setting ended up being shot in the back and hung from the nearest lamp post. Just sayinââŠ.. ;-)

The Hoss Trial. That time when Dottie finally lost her only friend.

The terms âwolvesâ being âless than humanâ are an odd equivalence to wrap your head around. What a strange new world they are living in.

Her friend had been killed by wolves, there are stories they have eaten whom they have killed.
