WOW! I’M IMPRESSED! (Okay, inside voice now) – Silver must really love Sprocket – enough so not to rat her out! // A show of hands: How many of us were predicting this?
This all means that she wasn’t involved in the scam, according to Silver, and there really isn’t any hard evidence that she was involved. He’s also telling them not to look in the theatre because she isn’t there.
I’m afraid I’m not convinced. What better thing for a con man than to fool his audience?
Although I will admit, I do hope that Sprocket will finally be able to put her past behind. at times all it takes to turn a person around is a good person beside them.
There’s a bit of practicality working here, as well. Sprocket always wanted out of the racket and to settle down. Silver might figure that he doesn’t need that kind of liability.
Ummmmm…..if I was Silver, I’d figure having someone on the outside, with $125,000 to spring me again, was a pretty nice insurance plicy if I got caught, too….
Silver’s attempt to cover for his sister may be sufficient to allow her time to slip out of the Lyric on the arm of Adam Austin. But she indicated earlier that there was no lasting thing with the writer (“…our first and last date….”), so she will probably ditch him as soon as she is far enough away from the cops and it is convenient for her to do so. The obvious next question is, will she do anything to try to help Silver? Or is she content to be rid of him?
In real life Silver Nitrate would have sense enough to say “I want to speak with an attorney first.”, which would end the questioning. But that makes it harder for Joe Staton and Mike Curtis to advance the story.

Silver did a Sprocket! And what would be Sprocket’s reaction to this.

What worries me is that Sprocket was the violent one of he two. Having her loose may constitute a hazard to the public.
