Even the Baby is worried about Elvis. At least Lupin and Puck have perked up and the Woman’s assertion that Elvis will be found :)

Do what I did when I had outdoor cats: stand at the door and shake a box of dry cat food. That always brought them running.

It’s important that it was Elvis and not one of the others who go out. With Puck or Lupin, you’d expect them to be completely lost in a different world, but Elvis has this reputation for no patience with the unexpected, so he’s really going to be put to the test.

Must have crossed a path, otherwise he should been able to follow the trail.

Poor guys… their emotional state is wreaking havoc with the quality of their reporting.

Wait, how did Lupin hear the woman claim “We’ll find him”? Lupin is deaf!

Thank you all for your sympathy and well wishes for my missing cat. There are a few additional facts you all should know. First and most important, our cats are indoor cats and do not normally go outside unless they are on a leash. My other cat figured out how to open the screen door by himself. Why he didn’t go out as well, I don’t know, but am grateful.

Yes, the LV in my name is Las Vegas, but we currently are on the road full-timing in our RV. We were at a very rural campground in Texas when Blaze disappeared. There was no nearby animal shelter (believe me, I checked). There is a pack of feral dogs that hang out in and near that campground, and the day after the night Blaze disappeared, I saw them in our campsite 4 times. I will leave you to your own conclusions.

I have read that if your cat ever gets out, put their litter box outside. Supposedly a cat can smell it’s own box from a mile away.

. . . my husband was out of town and left me in care of the cats. His cat escaped out the front door, when I went to get the mail. She ran around the corner of the house, like a flash! I didn’t know how I was ever going to catch her. Within a minute, one of large and loud Metro buses went by! Suddenly, there was a white flash that went directly into the house. Safe! Scared by this situation, “Stinky” avoided the front door EVER since. She recently passed away in my husbands’ arms due to natural causes. She was always his white shadow. :’(

. . . where is “Tommy”? Maybe, he will help “Elvis” deal with his situation until he is found? Maybe, “Elvis” will become his friend?

Just a gentle reminder, this is a wonderful story arc and and we should try to let it unfold at the pace the artist intended. We all enjoyed a version of it, and I hope not to ruin it for anyone else.

Even though my cats are indoor only, they are all trained to come when I whistle. Miscreant is the only one that is leash trained and he does love it. I have a screened in back porch that all the cats can access from a cat tunnel I installed through the den wall. Their litter pans are next to the entrance on the inside and since I have more litter pans on the porch they know they are allowed out there too. One day I came home and one of the girls was sitting in the driveway looking at me. She had pushed out the screen door at the bottom. She started to run but I whistled at her and her training kicked in so she ran to me and I picked her up and took her inside. After that I put hook and eye lock at the bottom of the door so it didn’t happen again. No more kitty escapes for us.

I just found a fluffy, orange, polydactyl kitten outside my home. He looks to be around 4 months old and is very friendly. I have never seen him before, and I suspect that he belongs to someone. I hope I can find his people.

I had one of my now-wife’s cats when she was in an apartment that limited the number of cats. Clawdia escaped one Saturday morning, and I walked around the house & up & down the street calling for her. Finally called the g/f and told her what happened. She came over, walked to the back fence, called ‘Clawdia!’ and from 2’ away came this very definite questioning ‘Meow?’

That cat hated me. I put my duffel bag on the couch after we came home from a weekend visiting her family. Clawdia jumped up on the couch and immediately started peeing on my bag.

Off-topic, but Dixie, the little pitbull girl, FINALLY let me touch her today! It was just a quick brush over her neck, but still, it’s progress. (I’ve been working with her for about two weeks now.)
